this is just a question for 90's classic house fans. I'm desparately trying to name, and find, an old track I used to play back 'then'. I can't remember the label, producer or track name. But the break is unforgettable.

The beat/BL is quite proggy and fades out into a chorus of children singing what sounds like an african tribal chant. Very very uplifting. Eventually backed up by an anthematic piano riff that takes the whole thing back to into the epic finish.

It's pretty rare, but it if you knew it qnd owned it, you'd never forget it.

    Any clues, PLEASE share.

You're bang on the right track. Not sure I've heard it in an ad, but the la la la ohdayeah is spot on. I think, and I stress think the track name ends in ....andia.

This J&S track comes closest to the overall vibe. Very anthem, very end of night. Thanks for the two tracks BTW, mint. Classics in their own right.

Thanks mate. It's not - LOVE Mobassa - but its damn close. The vocal chorus on my are kids singing. And the chant isn't quite a pure tribal as this.

Getting close though. If I wasn't tone deff I'd Shazam it and hope for the best.

I doubt it's this, as if you've forgotten this one then you deserve to have your house credentials removed, but I'll have to post it anyway.

This is the one I was trying to remember:

Is it this, maybe a different mix?

This mix has the choral/sample bit at the end for example :hmm:

It's doing my head in as the choral bit is now an earworm! :D

One of my all time favourtie tracks mate. But not the one. Track 'X' is about 128bpm, very upbeat. The chorus...forgive my attempt....'sounds' like this" ohve-e-e-ya, ohveya nam-a-na (repeat). It's driving me nutz now. Been on hundereds of YT playlists.....

Arghhhhhhhhhh hurry up ChristianB I need to know :D

...and if i am right I will not forgive Favelado for at least 5 minutes, especially as I saved him recently by ID-ing a track that he even had the lyrics wrong with.

    Favelado The Perfect Kiss

I'm tempted to start a song ID thread now for a tune that doesn't exist; just to annoy you.

It's from the early 80's, it's got synths and a big chunky bass-line, two female vocalists and a kind of vocoder sound kicking in the chorus. I think they wore white suits in the video. There's a really catchy "Oooh-ooooh!" chant in there. Maybe from Chicago, or possibly Philadelphia. Any idea Ruti?

My plan was to continually deny that anything you suggested sounded remotely like the track I was looking for, and how disappointed I was in your seemingly reduced powers of identification.

Then, after a week you shout at me loudly.

Going the other way, this one has the piano but no African singing. Fits all your other criteria perfectly though
