Queen + Paul Rodgers live - October

Just seen them on Al Murray's programme. No, not going to see that. :( I wanted them to be much better than that.

I was lucky enough to see Queen with Freddy back in 86 at Newcastle and it was that gig that proved to me what a great frontman he was.I've seen Maiden a few times and I do like Bruce except he was always a bit like our dog.Always running around !

they were a but shit. it's not as if anyone is going to be there to hear the new stuff though...

why did they do 'all right now' at the end? just to show how much better queen were than free?

It's this Thursday and I'm rather looking forward to it  :D

Don't suppose anyone saw them at the O2 last night?

Yup me and my bloke went to see them last night at the o2. It was a mixture of Queen and Paul Rodgers/Free/Bad company stuff.

It was a really good night out, it sounded great and the lights and things were really good. Certainly not the best concert I've been to but because it was Queen and they played all the old music it reminded me of being a kid.

Oh and you couldn't move for geeks!:o

Bass solo

good grief

It was fantastic - Jamie Moses had an electric upright, that Roger Taylor played using his drumsticks, they got some really cool sounds out of it

Even the drum solo was brilliant, Roger started with just a bass drum and hihat out on the walkway, and occasionally a roadie would appear adding another bit, until he had the whole kit, it looked like it was growing around him :D

Best gig I've been to in a long time, it's amazing to see just what can be done with video/lights/sound when money is no object

I so wanted to go. But I had to wait to see about my ankle op and it was 6 weeks ago with 3 months in a cast/splint, so I bit my lip and didnt get a ticket. :(

I've read only favourable reviews about this. I saw Queen at the NEC the first week it was open <feels old> :D

I've been told (by Brian Mays guitar tech, so I assume it's vaguely true) that George came off the stage that night saying things like "how the hell did Freddie manage to sing like that for 2 hours a time every night?"

It was then pointed out to him that not only did he sing like that every night, he also ran up to 2 miles whilst doing it :D

heretic.

we had fun, you have no idea what you're on about frankly :p

bass solos are the stupidest most pompous idea in a world of rock and roll which produces some very stupid and very pompous ideas :)
