Saw this last night. Most stylish Bond I've seen but the flipside of that is that it starts to look like FTV doing James Bond.
The major plot weakness for me was that the Quantum organisation wasn't prominent enough. Amalric could have made a great villain, at the slightly more plausible end of the Bond supervillains, but there was very little detail about Quantum and who they were, what they did and crucially what threat they posed both immediately and in the future. From a plot point of view this made sense, because it allowed the one-long-chase setup of the film with Bond relentlessly pursuing these people without knowing where he was going to turn next, but it sacrificed any effective impression of the danger that Quantum posed. I'm not quite sure how they could have solved this. Maybe by making more of the MI6 infiltration, or having more important people die early on.
