Quantum of Solace - 007 Bond, James Bond

I wasn't impressed, less than average, damn shame because Casino Royale was pretty decent.

The only thing I really liked about this one was the remarkable lack of propaganda in it. No government or even the private sector comes off looking good and there was a nice line about the US being tied up in the Middle East and unable to stop the various changes in South America. Oh yeah that and water being regarded as more valuable than oil (something we'll see in the next twenty or so years) was spot on too.

All that aside I'd give it a 4/10 and that's me being generous.

i'll put it this way .... when i was watching casino royal i though you could have change the charactors names and you wouldn't realise it was a bond film

It depends on what you want Bond to be like, I prefer Daniel Craig and CR's version. It has all the hallmarks of a Bond film (women, espionage, cars, M) but without the idiocy or shitty campness. CR is the best Bond and as he should be imo...

sorry but no one will ever top sean connery. he single handedly created a franchise thats now up to 22 or 23 movies.

ok it was an integrated effort but the casting of Mr. Connery was a big part of the success

Don't agree, Craigs version and in particular Casino Royale is Bond as he should be imo. It's just preference is all...

I am a huge Bond Fan - old and new ! I think it's good they take a new direction - much darker , with Bond bleeding all over the place having a miserable time !

I actually liked the villain in the latest one .... a "Peter Mandelson Type " . A snake without the need for a cat !

I really liked Casino Royale too, QoS is a real let down by comparison. I'd say unless the cinema experience is important to you to wait for the DVD and save you and some friends some money...

didn't really see where they spent all that dosh. They used to make james bond on the cheap, didn't they? This didn't seem to have anything in it that the old skool 70s ones didn't have.

Plus, action scenes were editied in a really bad way. changing camera angles every 0.66 seconds is exactly the wrong way to film action. film for ppl with a low concentration span? you never got the chance to concentrate.

As for the plot? Usual confusing bond "jump from one place to another with next to no explanation" stuff... Who cares about the plot, though, where the fuck is Q, and what happened to all the jokes...?

great film, crap Bond...in fact would've been a much better film without the Bondness so much so that it would have been a shit film if the Bondness wasn't the reason for it being a Bond film. Quite strange.

I wasn't keen. My 11 year old liked it.

Have no problem with Craig as Bond, but the film was a bit of a mess. Some good action sequences, but the characters were wafer thin, and my 85 year old Grandad would make a better villain.

Bit of a let down really as I enjoyed Casino Royale and felt it had given a lift to the franchise, they've just fallen comfortably into a formula that is really quite dull.

Almeriac is a very good actor...does understated sinister better than anyone at the moment.
