Quality Anime

Watch Cowboy Bebop - the movie and the tv series are good, but I reccomend the series first, otherwise you might not know what the hell is going on. I love that series. It's been running for a while on AnimeChannel on Sky, but that seems to have dissapeared for some reason o_O shame!

I really need to try and watch Ghost in the Shell again - only got half an hour into it last time. Loved Appleseed tho :) I did catch Sky Blue, which was trying a bit too hard to be another Appleseed, and found it a bit odd/boring, but you may like it.

All of the Ghibli films are brilliant.
Well... PomPoko is very.. uh, Japanese, for want of a better word. They gave what's G-rated in Japan an R rating in the States.

Another recommendation for Full Metal Alchemist. I think the episodal nature spoils it a bit, but not by very much. Good stuff!

well the testicles were going to be a difficult seller

and as much as i don't mind FMA and it's a cut above most shounen anime it suffers from the same plot problems as a lot of this stuff. the manga is serialised on a weekly or monthly basis and is always in danger of being cut so the authjor genrally has to both keep the story open ended and also have a reasonable endi ng kept in minf that can be stuck in at almost any point down the line... then also the anime then gets made often while the manga is still running so the have to go and make up a new ending just for the anime that or leave it off ater a major manga arc

so with FMA you get some major plot changes from the manga and end up with strange plot element where
deaths in our world.... and lets not even get started on the nazi robots from another dimention stuff

Berserk is one of my favorites, but gets very very strange near the end and doesn't really end...just stops. I really like the music from this show though.

Evangelion same sort of deal, starts off as a sort of robotech fight anime, then just starts getting wierder and wierder til it totally has a wierd out fit at the end to the point where you don't even know what is going on anymore.

I too liked FMA.

I know some here don't like it, due to the nature of the way it is shown, but I actually quite like Naruto, I strongly recommend watching it on a PC with liberal use of the Fast Forward button, in every 25 min episode there is only about 10mins worth of new footage. If you can suffer that I always find it fun to watch....again, really like the music in this show.

There is another one that escapes my mind....I am sure if I explain it someone will remember the name.

Guy, long raid coat, has two large guns, travels around in a post apocolapyptic world where water is sparse, he is extremely lucky, though his body has been mangled quite badly, he is wanted for destroying a city, when in reality people are just trying to get him and in escaping he causes untold damage, yet doesn't set out to cause any damage.

If someone remembers the name from that description, that was quite good.

and thr problem with naruto is the inability to end a plotrline

plus of course having to make the fights bigger and bigger each time.... end up nonsensical very quickly

just read the manga don't bother with the anime too myuch filler and repitition

yes

megumi hayashibara is excelent i n that

so much so that after the anime series the manga authour started putting her name in the book as he though she really made pai/paverati
