And there's a nice looking little one on the corner as you walk through from Cromer Street towards St Pancras library.
I've never been in mind you (because I was always passing by on the way to taking the small boy to the library - the little fucking spoil sport! ).
Can't remember the name either, so all fairly unhelpful really...... :p

If there're no seats in/outside the Lord John Russell (or 'The Lord John Thomas' as heo calls it  ) I don't mind the Norfolk Arms in Leigh Street either, although that might be for old times sake more than anything - it's not what it used to be and certainly doesn't have the atmosphere it used to.

For tv buffs though - the exterior shots of the bookshop in Black Books are filmed at the book shop opposite and again, it's reasonably quiet for it's central location.

Before I start....<sigh>.... milesy - that picture's not showing for me...although I see what you're getting at.... :D :(

The pub towards the library, is called McGlynns (on Whidborne St - which is very quiet - half of it is cobbled/'bollarded' (sp? :D ) iirc, so virtually traffic-free) and I just found this write up......

I enjoyed my visit here. It is a slightly unusual place but all the better because of this. The beer was good even though I am not a great fan of Courage Best. There is a nice welcome and a good selection of 'real' people (if you understand my meaning)

....which (to me) sounds like a thumbs up! ( ) :D

You can't say you weren't warned ;)

I went there once, the "exotic" "dancers" kept coming round with glasses demanding money, my protestations of gaydom meant nothing to them :( they wanted money whether you enjoyed the "show" or not.

  I'll need to be havin words with you. Were you in with company that i would know and more so after a session in the Cock tavern :D

So - sheo - what happens when another lady's trying to get out at the same time you're trying to get in then? :)

Amazing.

Well I'm glad you asked me that MG  <thumbs up> .....it's a tricky situation in that you can't just open the external door, go into the internal 'holding room' bit and then open the door to the toilet itself - instead, you must (I've always found anyway...) open the internal door, with the external door still open (and it's a step down to the inner chamber too, just to add to the multiple dilemmas going on in your bastard head by now).

It's all very hard work and hardly worth the bother actually.

You could give it a try MG - a quick toss of your hair and - once you've squeezed yourself past the rather large regular, you're in I reckon  - or you could just pay a visit to the UPSTAIRS ladies bogs. :)

Are ther no lewd, half-a-job male strippers in any pubs that you could visit as revenge?
(You could say 'we only went in to to watch the netball :o  ' )

 :)

I'm not buying the "we only went in to watch the football" line... he doesn't like football

silly berk was going round the house yesterday saying "exotic dancers" with a big "pleased with himself" grin  :D

how much did he put in the pint pot then?

standard practice to put in a quid per exotic dance

so i've been told

I accidentally wandered in there Tanky!! it's called the flyign scotsman or summthin.

it's shite.

Yeah theres much better strip bars around ;) The Scotsman is just skanky.

One place I fucking hate down there is the Ruby Lounge - used to be a really good Bi friendly spit and sawdust pub called the Malt and Hops but now it is full of sub Nathan Barley wankstains.

urgh - no way!! <feels sordid and grossed out> :(

You're just posting that coz you know tanky's watching.

Still, I promise I won't mention the endless overexcited PMs you've already sent me about your big night out, and how much you liked seeing unusual norks, and how rory shouted rude things at the ladies when they took their clothes off, and how he threw a sock at one of them and you got thrown out.
