Public Sector vs Private Sector

I've got a patronising tone simply for addressing your actual words, and because your point didn't come across how you now say you wanted it to?
novel logic, there.
you challenged people to come up with good things to have ever come out of the private sector.
I did so.
you didn't just say what worked for you, you made, sweeping indiscriminate statements and used what I regard as cack logic in assessing and being judgemental the private sector as a huge, monolthic whole.
I picked you up on them. if you want me to, i'll go back and post them up again.
I'll do so using a computer made by the private sector.
'sfunny that - just like yours!

I don't get this bit that you've thrown in. A computer company would certainly fall into the "just in it for the money" destinction that I gave earlier on in the thread. Certainly NOT an industry I'd want to get into for reasons I've given earlier.

I can't be held responsible for the hospital I work at using Dell, Jezza - doesn't mean I want to make a living from working for Dell.

PS. Please could you make your sentences more than three words long. Makes it easier to work out what you're harping on about.
(I think also you should read my edit in my previous post).

And yes your tone is patronising. Particularly when you call my posts studentesque, oh Mr. Managing Director of the education and employment forum.

Edit to add: :p

The IT revolution has has a huge - mostly benign - effect on billions, in untold ways.
QED.

So what's the difference between you working in the public sector, and Dell computers supplying some of their machines?

Frankly, you're both not doing it purely out the love of the public sector, you both expect and demand some return and reward from it.

I see no difference between your motivations and that of Dell computers.

ahhh...took me a wee while to get there, hollis, but I now see your point.
come to think of it, most of the pub sector/3rd sector employees I know have a skillset/working background which restricts them to public sector, after a period of time; so I wonder would they work for mick mouse wages in their current jobs.
Y'know, to 'do something worthwhile', 'do some good' - even if they could earn a wedge more in the private sector for the same labour?;)

Fuck me that's a horrible word. I never heard it before, and I don't like it a bit. That's all, as you were etc...
I'll inform the OED compilers, i'll sure they'll take immediate action...
