I'll take that as a "no", then. :)

Oh yeah, and I'm interested for you to list 10 "incredible" Wu Tang albums...

Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers)
Liquid Swords
Cuban Linx
Uncontrolled Substance
Ironman
Return to the 36 Chambers

...?

he don't know the meaning of dope
cos he's looking for a suit and tie rap that's cleaner than a bar of soap

I think The W was a fucking amazing album but noone else does :(

i like the W. some sick tunes on it.

one of meths tical jobblers would make the cut as well i reckon.

fedyan. Iam brought the rubbish argument into play kinda.

world according to rza was a bit shit though. I fucking hated the uk tune with blade and skinnyman(?) on it. so so disserpointing.

Perhaps yeah, but it's pretty valid and he's the only person. And in his defence he does like make the point that both have made an inpact and he doesn't choose one over the other.

Is that like Fedayn but typed too fast? :D;)

almost everything i type is like something typed too fast.:(

and its not pretty vlaid its a shit argument. and goodanm it since when has iam needed back up singers to argue with me!

I really like world according to RZA

it has a couple of stinkers on it, but it is RZA so it's bound to....

To be fair i think i was so cross with the blade track i havent listend to it again.

and im not a big rza fan so it was never going to be total win. I'm sure i will get round to it again one day.

I'm not backing him up, I don't like the music. But he's not doing what you say he is. I do however think the impact of PE onto not just hip.hip but music in general give them something that no-one following them can really have imho. As I said listening to the WUT does nothing for me other than make me wanna change the channel. However PE, althought i'm not a fan, I can see and hear something that makles me listen. I also think 'Fight the power' says something far beyond it's music/video more than wnything of the genre, just my humble of course.

hiphip. grandad :D:D

I think that idea is sort of you basing things on your perception tbh. I'm sure seeing Public Enemy shouting about Black Power and so on on MTV was very powerful at the time, but was the really powerful thing not just MTV showing Public Enemy?

For me personally, I have massive respect for Public Enemy, a lot of their stuff still sounds fresh today, they had a completely unique approach to making music, and they managed to talk about political and social stuff and rarely made it dull or preachy

But WuTang are just much better. they have better rappers, better beats, better lyrics, better everything

I could explain what I meant in some detail, but it's not really that important, and also really pretty evident if you know the history and development of the music concerned. It may not necessarily be true in excluscivity, but the Wu-Tang (and most other NY hardcore that followed them) sound owes a debt to the way PE changed things and the sound and styles they develeoped as they did so. Not solely to PE, mind, but somewhat.

Ninj, if Blackout counts, then so do things like Sunz of Man, Hell Razah, Killah Priest and other affliates, surely? I was thinking direct Wu Tang albums... I'll agree there's quite a few that are good, or even very good. But incredible might be a bit of a stretch - especially for the RZA record and Chronicles, imo.

I'd also say it's a toss up as to whether there's a rapper in the Wu who's better than Chuck D. As much as I love several of them, respect their skills and their work... Chuck's like... Chuck, man!

I love both acts, what am I going to do? I choose both.

:)

Poll later :D:D

I like GZAs political stuff better than Chuck D's and for flow I think just about all of them better...

You and I are fairly unlikely to have the same top 10 MCs though, as thread after thread after thread after thread has shown over the years...

Both PE and the Wu have made some of the greatest music I've ever heard, but this is a daft comparison and I refuse to choose. The best work of both of them isn't even contemporary: if anything, I think the darkness of the best Wu Tang stuff relates to the rage of PE's best work in the way a hangover relates to a night on the piss. Or something.:p
