Looks like Sky are pulling their sponsorship at the end of 2019. That’s gonna cause a few ripples

Maybe they could become the Urban75 team. I'm sure there's £15million a year spare in the server fund.

The Boy danny la rouge is probably wrong.

There really is some dross in the world tour, isn't there.

I dunno, Quickstep - on the back of an incredible season - struggled.

The stench around Sky is going to put off a few potential sponsors.

They'll end up as Team Bet365 or similar with a 75% cut in the salary bill.

I don't think the stench will put people off, especially the dodgier people to the East of Europe who want to by Western credibility through sport.

That wouldn't get you much more than Froome, Thomas, Kwiato, Bernal, a mechanic and a transit van that Brailsford would have to drive himself.

I could see Red Bull stepping in. They have a presence around cycling of various types anyway, they’re a global brand, plus they clearly have the money available.

The doctor is due in front of the GMC in Feb to explain the delivery of testosterone patches to the velodrome.

Maybe the team will fold and everyone will just ride off into the sunset.

    Talking of sponsors...

McLaren have just announced that they are going to be a 50% owner of Bahrain Merida, with title sponsorship likely in 2020. They are also going to be working with Merida on bike development.

Seems an obvious partnership really, access to the cutting edge carbon tech they have, wind tunnels etc

So has that kid Ivan Sosa who reneged on his contract with Trek actually signed with Sky? Formal announcements were expected weeks ago but I don;t think Sky have made it official yet. Would be funny if he had to ride pro-conti again next season.

Sir "Dave" Brailsford will probably wash ashore at of one the Middle East owned teams who will be keen for him to repeat his alchemy.
