And a worthy maglia rosa. Only GC contender to do try fuck all in the first four days.

Is this giro weighted too much to the final week? Everyone just seems content to mark each other. At least an ITT will provide a little shade-up. Forza Jungels!

Err, i've watched fuck all of the racing so far, but the Girl d'italia app is pretty good.

I watched the Quest highlights last night for the first time, and was a bit surprised to find Jonathan Edwards fronting it. Does he know his cycling, or is it scripted?

Those seven hairpins on the descent yesterday were truly beautiful.

He's a keen cyclist and has done various bits of cycling coverage for the BBC in the past IIRC. He's also Eurosport UK's lead presenter so it makes sense for him to be covering a major event like the Giro.

Nasty crash with a police motorbike just now :(

That was a brutal looking climb.

So is that what they call a hard brexit?

Quintana's repeat attacks where quite impressive, although we'll see if it works against the Sky train in July.

    Dumoulin continues to impress.

Hee hee..was going top comment on that. Poor Wilco got caught in the crossfire.

Kudos to Thomas for not whining about it like Orica did.

Well the time trial seems to have helped make things interesting . :)

Dumoulin looked very Indurain-esque yesterday, and that was a very exciting final 10km today.

    Good race so far.

Has anyomne been watching coverage on Eurosport. We have mostly watched catch up in the evenings; the pictures last nigt especially were appaling. There were times when the captions were unreadable! :(

We get the UK Eurosport feed in Australia. However, when the UK goes on a commercial break we don't and the commentators don't know this so we get a more candid audio feed when they think they are on a break. It's usually a discussion about what they're going to have a for lunch but I'm waiting for a doping related revelation. They did say Thomas was more injured than Sky were letting on when they thought nobody was listening.

Typical Sagan stage win in Tour of California yesterday

It's sad watching the Tour of California this year without Alaphilippe there. What a rotten season he is having with injury. He's missing Le Tour but hopefully he'll bounce back and win the Worlds or Il Lombardia.

I haven't seen any of it, just read race reports. Sounds like the big teams seriously misjudged the breakaway yesterday...

    Gaviria. Very impressive.

22 years old, 4 stage wins on his grand tour debut. Very impressive indeed...

Apparently Gaviria's maximum speed in that sprint was 72.8kph, with a 5 second peak power of 1478 watts

Sad, but true. Gets his head in a major tour, then wallop.

Is it me or is Brad really turning into Grizzly Adams?

Well, that makes the GC a lot more interesting

    Superbly paced ride from Dumoulin.

I'm hoping it makes Quintana produce something ridiculous over the Stelvio...

I get that argument, but you can't deny they're effective.

Same, but my immediate reaction today was that that was game over. I know there's a difference between a single climb mtf and a proper multi-climb stage but by my reckoning dumoulin has about 4 minutes to play with.
