Prime Ministers Questions Cabinet Exit Meltdown Mayhem

From a man who recycles his entire political arsenal that's rather a weak rejoinder.

It's the difference between intellectual consistency and a lack of imagination.

A little bit worrying that it even needs pointing out.

Now go off and behave yourself and stop trying to cause trouble.

Yet more of your i'm intelligent you're not bollocks. Come on, you can do better than that surely? Though frankly, as Donna has pointed out, it doesn't need much rebuffing.

That's fortunate as it doesn't seem to get much rebutting.

You're still trying to cause trouble, aren't you?

Oh the irony...

Yes, it's all so worrying having someone not fall for your b- on here, life must be soo hard.

It certainly is. You and Donna are the only people to have seen through my shallow stance. It fooled everyone else, didn't it?

Well done the pair of you! Keep fighting the good fight.

Not at all, perhaps others are more tolerant of your snidey ideas. I, perhaps, am a little less tolerant of the likes of you.

I think you'll find yourself in a great deal of company with posters on here that don't tolerate my ideas but practically in a league of your own when it comes to turning that into a self-aggrandising personal vendetta.

Now, do you have any substantial points to raise about the topic of the thread or would you just like to continue your rather pointless abuse?

*blows whistle, throws water* as when separating fighting cats
AAAAAAaaaaaanyway, the PM is supposed to be gone and a new one in by June, labour rebels hope. Only now the news is out, will it flop as an idea? Or is it a strategic leak on the day the Guardian called for Brown's head?

As this is an exclusive, it rather looks like the latter

The point has already been made and was being made amicably before your snide moans about alleged poisons.

Cameron was pathetic today, truly pathetic. He had more open goals than he could have dreamt possible but he failed with every single attempted shot.

That was odd. Could you see Hague failing to milk the opportunities presented?

Cameron is either playing some long game or just a bit shit at PMQ's

The latter. But then, Blair was no good in opposition, either. He just grinned and paused. And then won. Cameron has copied him to the letter. Even the shirt sleeve photo ops.

Absolutely, for all his drink-boasting idiocies, Hague was a capable orator and dispatch box fighter and would, imho, have made much more of Browns situation that Cameron did.

Hague is a superb debater, and still has eyes on No.10 one day...

I'm sure cameron wants Brown to stay in, so he can make hay by trashing an unpopular PM. If someone else ie. Harman or Johnston takes over, he'll be on the back foot and out of his comfort zone. Also, a general election would expose his lack of actual policies. So he is skipping past open goals because a coup de grace for Brown would fuck him up and backfire on the Tories. Or something like that.

I didn't see it, so I'm not sure what opportunities he missed, but I do think this is tricky for the Tories. They have been just as involved in the shenanigans, that disgust the public, as the Labour Party has. If they are seen as trying very hard to get party advantage, rather than being suitably contrite, they risk putting off their prospective voters. So far, the Labour Party has suffered more in the polls, largely because the government is (inevitably) getting an extra dollop of blame, but the Tories do have to watch their step and play this carefully or they will stick with 30% or less than 30% of the vote. If they do that badly, it will be some, but not really enough, consolation to know that Labour has done disastrously.

But that's not in Camerons gift is it?!
no but there are loads of things he can do to try and shore him up, so as tio ensure he faces what he deems to be 'damaged goods' at the next GE. Exactly like, in fact, what Kinnock tried to do with Thatcher in 1990 - his 'no confidence' was a rare occasion of such a vote being called to keep someone in office.

shit it'll be another Major won't it?
Entirely possible, especially if (as I suspect) to get a relatively untainted (so not Purnell) leader in place before the GE, and then make representations to the lib-dems about power-sharing.
And who knows? That might just work and bring about some much-needed parliamentary reform.
I'm not holding my breath, though.
Hopefully we we won't get a later biography from Blears revealing how she boned him.
I feel soiled. :(
