Price of pizza

Pizza Express, Pizza Hut, Domino's - overpriced and not so nice

so worth it if you can find a decent local pizza place... haven't found one in Oxford yet.... I *love* pizza too....

All takeaways seem to be very expensive in Oxford to the point I never had one, same price to eat in a restaurant!!!

Anyways this thread made me order local skanky pizza last night URGH!!! Comes to summat when the Morries pizza is cheaper and nicer.

Bucket of grease wrapped round some cardboard with a load of melted elastic on top. Not. Nice. :(

What do you like then? Pizza Hut?

Pizza Express do "Romano" pizza now, the closest thing to pizza I have eaten in Rome.

If anyone can tell me of a frozen pizza that comes close to Pizza Express, I'd be interested to know.. even their own frozen pizzas are rank.

I would never now go to a restaurant and eat pizza, to me its grab and run food not sit down and savour.....

As for frozen pizza's i doubt if there are that many that taste BETTER, but as i dont think there is that much of a drastic differnce id rather not waste my money.

I suppose its how much you like pizza at the end of the day, but im not a snob like some of my mates that see pizza express as some in place to go these days....

Boy, who would have thought a thread on pizza prizes could be so popular?

I just thought, there is a pizza place on Hagley Road in Brum called Chaps, by far the best value pizza I ever had in UK. We used to get two large pizzas, too big to eat on ya own, for about a tenner. Used to buy em friday night and they would feed us all weekend!

innit?

i just got a large with 6 items delivered for $12 but the store is brand new so they are doing a special (it's not a chain). normally it would have been around $16 or so. :)

it looks pretty damn good

My local pizza place does free delivery.

Well yeah, the few I've tried here don't charge extra for delivery. The whole thing is just a rip off... Oh you were being pedantic.
:p

I've had an email from Little Caesar and they are expecting to launch in UK in 6-12 months.:D

Canh anyone hwo has a Costco near them tell me how much they charge for pizza cos in the US they are incredible value, Costco are currently building in Cardiff, can't wait!

Little Caesars is shit crapola pizza. The guy who started it owns like half of Detroit and he's a big time asshole.

No. Someone said the price of delivered pizza was a rip off.

My local does a £10 meal deal. 2 pizzas + either 2 kebabs or 2 burgers or 2 southern fried chicken and 2 liters of coke.

100yards away in the opposite direction is a branded pizza store where a 10" pizza will cost £9.50 on it's own and doesn't taste as nice as the cheap shop.

Branded pizza is a rip off not delivered pizza. :)

What's it like though? I can't imagine that it's remotely decent for that price. Food that cheap in the UK is always horrible.

by definition pizza shouldn't be posh....it is the common person's food.

I think in the UK "posh" pizza can be defined as anything that's like a decent Italian pizza rather than some rancid deep pan muck from the local takeaway that also sells fried chicken and kebabs.

Theres some white packaged thin crust jobbies they do in ASDA with spinach and mozzarella which is rather nice. Cant remember the name though.

They taste a lot better than the domino's / perfect pizza whatever it is that just up the road.

If it wasn't so expensive I would eat it all the fucking time :(

It's like a tenner at least for a pizza gogo Nixon sized pizza..

Pizza is ridiculously expensive in China. About 70 RMB usually, for a really meriocre one (about 10 USD) (a 12 incher). The same money will buy you two dishes at a top rate chinese restaurant.

There's somewhere in Brixton that does a pizza for £1. It's the most disgusting thing I've ever tried, adn failed, to eat. Oil soaked matter with a smidgen of tomato-flavoured matter and cheese-flavoured matter on top. And not even hot.
