Lowering the tone. Again.

SubZeroCat said:Yeah that's one thing I ain't keen on. It is a fucking salad.
I'm sure they're still lovely but don't call it a no bread sandwich eh?
(Introducing: the No Filling Sandwich! Two slices of bread and some cracked black pepper £4.50)

I don't get why people spend money in those places
Waste of money I tell ya!
Skim said:Those Atkins diet followers have got a lot to answer for.
I'd quite enjoy a no filling sandwich, but I like bread on its own sometimes. I'm also the kind of gullible buffoon who'd pay good money for such a concept![]()

kyser_soze said:Eat - I reckon they are better all round, plus no McDs involvement.
And for anyone who cares, EAT stands for Excellence And Taste it's usually subheaded on the menus and stuff...

Since I discovered the mighty Malletti (Italian pizza/pasta shop in Soho) my non-packed lunch days are spent there rather than Eat or Pret.
BootyLove said:I had a very mouldy sandwich from Eat once - they aren't that fresh.
I don't understand why people go to these 'franchises' every lunchtime when there's such an plethora of reasonably priced decent sandwich shops around.
BootyLove said:There are, just got to search 'em out. Though Pret is probably killing them.
chegrimandi said:you should be supporting your local sandwich shops - unless of course in the future you'd like a choice of only pret or eat.

kyser_soze said:As for this whole 'local sandwich shops' - the ones that are good and provide decent sarnies will always survive - witness (despite what Pacific Ocean says) the profusion of little sandwich places in Soho (in fact, all over central London), usually with their trays of flaked crab stick, a few escalopes, coronation chicken etc etc...
PacificOcean said:And how fucking expensive are those types of places and how fattening is the food they do? I have a stroke just looking in the window of some of them.
