This is where Pret has lost it.

It's called a salad, FFS!

Yeah that's one thing I ain't keen on. It is a fucking salad.

I'm sure they're still lovely but don't call it a no bread sandwich eh?

(Introducing: the No Filling Sandwich! Two slices of bread and some cracked black pepper £4.50  )

Pret just go overkill on the sauces - it's just like a big mac but in a sandwich, I do like their yoga bunny detox drink though. eat are just a bit boring

Those Atkins diet followers have got a lot to answer for.

I'd quite enjoy a no filling sandwich, but I like bread on its own sometimes. I'm also the kind of gullible buffoon who'd pay good money for such a concept :(

I don't get why people spend money in those places
Waste of money I tell ya!

Cos I enjoy their food (when I haven't brought my own lunch in).

More expensive than some other places yes but I love food and it's top of my list of What To Spend Money on.

Then you could get one no filling and one no bread and...

Is anyone still doing the Atkins?

The Atkins diet is soooo 2003.

Eat - I reckon they are better all round, plus no McDs involvement.

And for anyone who cares, EAT stands for Excellence And Taste it's usually subheaded on the menus and stuff...

You are not supposed to use 'And' in anacnroyms are you?

Maybe it's EaT in that case...I dunno...probably not but bad grammar rarely stops marketing people when they latch onto an idea...

Pret do killer carrot cakes which i used to treat myself to when I worked in the City.... never been to Eat. won't be going back to Pret since I discovered the McD connection...

Since I discovered the mighty Malletti (Italian pizza/pasta shop in Soho) my non-packed lunch days are spent there rather than Eat or Pret.

yum yum!

However, I vote Eat for their soup. I used to have their "soup of the day" pop-up installed on my work pc so I could check what my lunch options were.

Is that the lil Italian place on the corner of Wardour St and St Anne's Court? If it is yeah, they do righteous, tho VERY fattening foods...

I had a very mouldy sandwich from Eat once - they aren't that fresh.

I don't understand why people go to these 'franchises' every lunchtime when there's such an plethora of reasonably priced decent sandwich shops around.

Not in Central London there aint!

you should be supporting your local sandwich shops - unless of course in the future you'd like a choice of only pret or eat.

Or Subway or Benjis or Boots or M&S or Tesco Metro or Sainsburys Central or.......

So you had one sandwich from Eat and that's enough to condemn the whole chain? Wow, that must've pissed you off some!

As for this whole 'local sandwich shops' - the ones that are good and provide decent sarnies will always survive - witness (despite what Pacific Ocean says) the profusion of little sandwich places in Soho (in fact, all over central London), usually with their trays of flaked crab stick, a few escalopes, coronation chicken etc etc...

And how fucking expensive are those types of places and how fattening is the food they do? I have a stroke just looking in the window of some of them.

Um...shall I tell him or do you guys want to?

At least Pret and Eat recognise that people are in a hurry at lunchtime.

Boots could really learn from this. The hopeless way they manage to turn a few customers into a long queue puts me off buying any food there, despite their 'meal deal'.

I do this as well when possible – but they don't sell vanilla chillers. Just crab sticks

i voted for all 3, because i dont often go to Pret a Manger, unless i am desperate for something to eat and they are the closest place . i have never eaten at Eat, but i liked the alliteration in the poll  And i voted for Chris's mum because i got carried away with my voting finger :)
