President Trump's Cabinet

Gaffney is a batshit Zionist, one has to wonder what the hardcore antisemite trump fans are going to make of him

... and of the likely appointment of Goldman Sachs guy to run Treasury

Bannon appears to be both a fan of Israeli militarism and very suspicious of the Chosen People conspiring in a cabal to run the world. An old 60s configuration that seems to be coming back into fashion on the US right. He's quite happy to attack liberals with charges of anti-Semitism. He'd probably be fine with Gaffney's global MB conspiracy theories. That's just the old song with a new tune.

Is this going to be like one of those movies where the protagonist keeps doing their job and saves the world, and gets given their badge back at the end?

On War On The Rocks THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION WILL BE HAWKISH

I reckon so despite the campaign trail bullshitting.

Trump's probably the touchiest critter ever to have his arse in the Oval Office. Like most high rolling business men he's used to being essentially a feudal lord surrounded by hand picked sycophants. He's going to be real angry having to deal with lots of people who won't do what he says and he can't fire and that's just on The Hill. He'll have to deal with tough characters like Erdogan, Putin, Merkel and Xi Jinping. His administration looks like being thick with lobbyists, loons and establishment hawks. He already looks incompetent he can't afford to look weak as well. He's going to tear up the Iranian nuclear deal and bombing them to retard their program is a likely alternative.

On Lawfare Rational Security: The "Welcome to the New Not Normal" Edition

An hour long podcast with various US security wonks looking at the administration in formation with jaws clanging on the floor. The purging of Chris Christie's transition team seemingly because Trump's son in law's dad was prosecuted by Christie is seen as a very bad sign of things to come.

It's very unusual for a bunch of Americans to sit around discussing Angela Merkel having to step in as leader of the free world. They point to the line in the sand language of her congratulation letter to Trump. From the FT:
...
“Germany and America are bound by common values,” she wrote. “Democracy, freedom, as well as respect for the rule of law and the dignity of each and every person regardless of their origin, skin colour, creed, gender, sexual orientation or political views.” Future co-operation, the EU’s most powerful leader added, would be “based on these values”.
...
Of course Merkel might be out on here ear soon as well.

How very Japanese and perhaps perceptive. Trump surfed into the Oval Orifice on a sea of improvised bullshit.

I'm pretentiously reminded of Ubu Roi.

The language of the play is a unique mix of slang from the playground, code-words, puns and near-gutter vocabulary, set to strange speech patterns.

In BI Trump reportedly taps Rep. Mike Pompeo to be CIA director
...
Pompeo has been criticized in the past for his comments about Muslims, as he once argued in 2013 that clerics who failed to fully denounce terrorists were "complicit" in the attacks.

He also apologized in 2010 for a tweet his campaign posted that called his Indian-American opponent, Raj Goyle, a "turban topper" who "could be a Muslim, a hindy, a buddhist etc who knows."
They are never going to get through their next Diversity Awareness audit.

Trump's appointments are going down well....with Duke...

Bannon, Flynn, Sessions -- Great! Senate must demand that Sessions as AG stop the massive institutional race discrimination against whites!
