But I'm not looking for one. No I'm not. Not yet. No sir. No need for it. Which means I don't want it. Uhn uh.

The good stuff comes out of the east:

'The EHP-606 even has the ability to download new media via BitTorrents and Usenet. Turn off your computer and let your EHP-606 do the work! Elektron designed the EHP-606 to be as versatile and convenient as possible. In addition accessing files stored on the installed hard drive, you can also attach via USB port an external CD/DVD player, flash drive, or HDD and play any media files stored on those devices. You can stream media stored on your home computer via Ethernet or WI-FI USB adapter. '

and the Popcorn hour is good too. I don't think that seriously cheap WD does upscaling particularly well (i'd be surprised as most need a Sigma hardware media chip to do so or at least a proper processor but I can't find any info on what it's using)

Yes - it uses a sigma chip and handles upscaling fine. 30mbps files with peaks of 45mbps play without a problem, too.

Wait get a cheap second hand one and wait for the next generation of OLED Tv's to come out. 3mm thin, longer life, less power,

All this bollocks just for the sake of a telly?

Buy the cheapest you can find in a size you can tolerate. I miss my portable, tvs nowadays only seem to come in 'too big'.

Then watch whatever shite is on in your pyjamas and spill beer and crisp shards down yourself like the rest of us. :)

As others have said having a source of HD content is pretty important if you have gone to the expense of getting a Full HD TV. We are getting a Free Sat HD box which is around £120 which will let us watch the free HD channels without a subscription and then at some point when budget allows a Blue Ray DVD player. Seems that HDMI is the preferred interface so try and get a TV with as many of those ports on. Good luck.
