Post your London sunsets and skylines

It was said with my tongue firmly in my cheek :D

(where's the ironing board btw?)

he's just a bit bitter that I didn't like his gasmask photos.

I am not bitter about the fact that you did not like them, what I am annoyed about is how unproffesional you went about commenting on them. If you truley are a photographer and have a love of photography you should be able to look past your personal asthetic taste of a picture and comment on the technical side of them, yeah fine say you dont like the subject but a bit of constructive critisism would be more mature and probably gain you a lot more respect than you have on this forum.

As far what he said to me, I think he must of just looked in my album which is convienantly called 'stuff n crap'

I actually looked through most of your work and although some is OK most of it is actually just opertunist photography, ie being in the right place at the right time and then cropping it to the way that looks good.

I took what you said on board with a pinch of salt as I have photos from all over the world; protests, festivals, council estates and cities, countryside and coast. Had work in galleries, magazines, postcards, calanders, sold photos, won comps, blah blah. I'm not arsed if people don't like them but most people seem too

This has to be the most arrogant post I have ever read it is basically saying I am amazing because I take commercial style photos that everyone wants to see, having your work on a postcard has to be the lowest of the low. Bragging about your work in this way is just sad and goes to prove that you are not the type of person who I would ever consider talking to about photography. I have sold work, had it displayed in galleries, will have work on an album cover in the near future, but I do not feel the need to use this as a way of saying I am correct in any way shape or form. Now most people have agreed with me and not you on this subject, you seem to be turning into a running joke on this forum with your keyboard bashing, my advice (take it or leave it) is that you relax pull your head from your arse and start to act like an adult on the forum. For once why dont you try to say on the forum what you would say to the person in real life.

P.S I would say this to you in real life ask anyone who knows me

You just need to think a little more carefully sometimes before you open your virtual mouth mate, that's all.

I did, but your eyes were full of tears.

What I said for the record:

Badly cropped and could do with straightening, a bit of DoF and a some more thought into the composition wouldn't go a miss.
The bottom one is by far the worst, it is way too overly saturated, there's no tonal differences in the gasmask - it is just black and red never lends its self well to JPEG compression for some reason. It is a shame because with a bit more thought that photo could of been one of the best. Plus it is dead centre! Rule of thirds etc.

Damn that cartier-bresson!

People know you... poor bastards :(

Riot sky = In danger of turning into someone before my very own eyes who gets slagged off :(

Stop it dude - just let it go?

I aint letting anything go until he articulates any kind of post that has an ounce of truth in it. First off this wasn't a thread about 'crit my sunset', it was merely a thread for others to post pics up they had taken, albeit good ones are bad ones.

If he wasn't as puerile and egotistical, to be able to take criticism with out injecting and derailing another thread with narrow-minded objectives then perhaps. I couldn't really give a shit what he and anyone thinks of my photos and I have never been as egotistical to call myself a photographer, although I get the impression he does (bless).

Further more he truely does demonstrate what a fool he is; "being at the right place at the right time", well yeah - I don't go for contrived photogaphy, insofar as I see something and I react. I mean if you're going to use that to belittle someone then you're discounting the likes of photographers he hasn't heard of, so I won't bother wasting my breath, but he may of seen some of Paul Russel's stuff... and by his rationale he's also crap :D

Quite simply he needs to grow up and leave his narcissist online persona at home.

P.S anyone who takes a photo of themself into a mirror using flash does not deserve to ever comment on other peoples pictures because they obviously dont know the first thing about photography.
Not defending Riot Sky or that picture but this is complete and utter bollocks. It's a picture taken for the fun of it and loads of people do it - for fun. How does it make the person any less knowledgeable about photography?

Anyway it's no worse than holding a camera at the end of your outstretched arm, pointing it back at yourself to take a self-portrait, then cutting yourself out and pasting yourself onto a cloudy black & white sky. Especially when it looks that bad.

As for being in the right place at the right time... do you think good photography = carefully setting up a predetermined shot?

FFS

I think both riot sky and GuerillaPhoto have taken some amazingly cool photos and some that are not so great. A bit like me and anyone else here. FWIW I consider both of you to be better, more experienced photographers than I am and I feel very pleased with my progress.

I wish you'd both just give it a rest and move on

Less willy waving and more photos please
