Post Your Five Favourite Glastonbury Photos (Bandwidth Issues Blah Blah Blah)

I refuse to belive he thought it was a good idea beacuse of drugs otherwise bluestreak meems and a few others would have been wondering round the place in full regal outfits waving at everyone shouting off with his head at every oppitunity.

don't blame drugs for monarchists!

Speaking of which GBL is shit so there!:p

Tuesday... the calm before the storm

Trash City is buzzing with build activity. NYC Downlow is still some way to completion, but many of the structures are just needing finishing touches. A welder here is doing some final work on the truck.

Crew 'session' at Bar Humbug, Tues. The guy here is Dan, a manager at J Markets. Some Late 'n' Live catering crew were us, and the bar owner was being very very generous with his measures. Sometime after this I passed out in a Portaloo, and was rescued by H4C. I woke up the next morning to find I had lost my belt, a flask of Morgan's Spiced, but had made it home with the SLR and very little memory of the night before. All good. :)

Fairly sure this is Shangri-La rather than Trash City. About 10 mins earlier I think I managed to insult the creative director, by asking whether her own personal bit (Shackney) had more stuff to be added (she said "no, that's it") but truth be told it looked pretty good at night with lighting running. Oops.

Wednesday, Open!

Visitors to Pyramid Info. They wanted bundles of the free Mini Guides to hand out to visitors, which we duly handed over. And they got fed polo mints too. (Police: Mini Guides, Horses: Mints... just in case there was any confusion there :) )

Early arrivals, Wednesday. I joked with them that they should enjoy the view, because it'll all be mud in a few days. How wrong I was, how wonderfully wrong.

loving the flag pics from the south side.... new highest point, like.... lovely up there coming down in the sun! God bless that fucking festival!

I met dan, he was lovely :)

Heh heh... small world. He cycled up to where I was sitting at the Park on the Wednesday and said "How's the hangover?". The only reason I knew who he was because I'd looked at my camera photos in the morning.

Reminds me, I promised I'd send him that photo. For a fiver, I'll give you his email address. :D

Here are my favourite 3 - I was working as a press photographer for the weekend.

This is the accordion-player from Rafven, who are jazz folk musicians from Göteborg, Sweden who played on the Avalon Stage on Sunday.

And Rafven's violin and double-bass player.

not entirely sure what this persons point was but it involved leaping out in front of landrovers, shouting at them through a megaphone, scaring the shit out of them and then moving on.

It's a Mercedes 310 - not the long wheelbase. I refused to get anything that long

It just looks loads wider than vans I'm used to. Bet it's much better than tents!

I want a van, but dunno what to get, or where the money'll come from, :hmm: doh! :D:(

TheTV coverage only touches the surface! You'd both love it

<snip>

Oh yes nice van Pie Eye, not seem it until now ... just low level vehicle pron though ... not hard core like the old trucks and buses and stuff

I know I'd love it, (the BF would just say 'peace man' and call me a hippy but he'd love it too ;)) I think I might be a bit overwhelmed though, all those people!

PieEye's van is great and very practical will, and she won't have to pay that £25 quid enviromental tax like those older ones will!

Can't see your pics wiskey!

It's not that wide really - probably just looks like that cos I'm sprawled across it trying not to be sick :D I like the older funky busses etc too but for someone like me it would mean buying one ready converted and that would be a lot more expensive than what I bought I reckon. I just wanted a good engine so I wasn't constantly waiting on verges for the AA to drag my arse home ;) Hasn't happened yet (crosses fingers) - but I need to get it serviced - I think I'm putting it off in case of horrors that I'll be forced to pay for.

In that case a plausible explanation escapes me. Help me out?

I think its genius is you can't tell if he's taking the piss or not.
It's right on the line, which makes it fantastic. I laughed out loud and cheered, and I think we were watching some beautiful folk music at the time:D

Chainsaw carvings were amazing.

One from the wishing tree, some of them made me laugh, like the one that said "I wish I could stop doing such smelly farts, even if they are funny". Others, like "I wish I could have a baby" made me wish very hard for them too.

Next year, I'm there, you can't beat the amount of brilliant performers in one place. I think you can go off the whole thing for a while then want to get straight back in.
