Post-Christmas Sales

Folk who don't waste their money on tobacco can afford to shop at Schuh too :p :D

I don't & I was in Schuh recently - even at sale prices, it was still well over the price of everywhere else & the stock was generally hideous too.

Any cash spent there is well wasted IMO. :p

There prices never seem that bad to me. Where can you get a wide range of trainers for cheaper?

Well, the shoe shop across the road here would be a good place to start.

£85 for a pair of shoes that another shop here had for £35?

just got back from gunwhalf quays in portsmouth and it was not that great for bargains - got a ski bag for £20 and some crackers from M&S

I was there last Friday - it can be really hit & miss in Gunwharf.

I did pick up a Fred Perry leather bag that was reduced from £125 to £40 & a nice hooded top from French Connection - £60 down to £18 :)

I really wanted to get a Dualit kettle from the cookware shop, but I had to budget my spends :(

Pissed water all over the place mainly - esp the power base! Then the gauge was exceptionally hard to read & didn't even register till you had quite a lot of water in it to begin with (which at 3Kw equals quite a waste of energy) & the lid was a battle to get open. Otherwise, it was a nice solid bit of metalwork.

Got a Kenwood eco-kettle instead & it is a dream of efficency & functionality by comparison. :)

That sounds terrible! Shame really as I've had my eye on one for ages... and a matching toaster. I should really move over to the surburban forum with this :o

Back on tangent though... I was (and still am) hoping that the Cosmetics Company Store in Gunwharf marks down some of their Origins stock. Bet they won't!

Yup, I think toasters are the one thing Dualit undeniably does well.

There is at least one recent-ish thread on them here & another on good/efficient kettles too.

Stacks & stacks of 40" & above Bermuda shorts in Debenhams here tonight. Also a small mountain of l'Occitaine gift boxes of various sorts for a tenner. :hmm:
