Posh dresses for elderly chubbettes

Yep, those empire line things don't work for me either - smockie type things the same - just blurs the edges and makes me look even bigger! Even though I'm largish, I find more fitted stuff looks better.

That Julien MacDonald dress is in my sights - off to Oxford St tomorrow night and will hunt it down. The shape looks terrific not so sure about the pattern, but it's the right place to start. And sod the vest - if the bangers are out it definitely takes the focus away from my fat arse!

:D

Those shoes are ace, Ceej.

What about something like this - covers your arms but shows off the bangers.

i'm giving up on most empire lines, too. they make my boobs look like these ridiculous, pillow-like edifaces.

v-necks are where it's at, really, for big boobs. either as a wrap style or with some underbust detailing. the diagonal sline across the boobs shows them off while making them seem less overwhelming, iyswim.

i was very attached to empire lines for a long time, so this is odd. perhaps it's because i've lost some weight.

That's a nice Monsoon, Mrs T - tomorrow it will be tried on! I like Jackie L-B's orange dress (though I'd look like I'd been Tango-ed).

It's been suggested I try Fonthill Road in Finsbury Park for a posh - never been there, any experiences?

And a trip to Chez Louloubelle must be arranged!

Big thanks and squeezy hugs to Loulou - thanks to her I have a fabulous vintage frock, plunging neckline and covers all the rest up - light and flattering and wouldn't look out of place on an ocean liner propping a cocktail! Thanks, babe! x

My pleasure lovely girl! :)

You look a million dollars in it!

I have recently been customising various oriental looking vintage dresses and tops to wear with trousers so I can spar / fight in them.

I'm doing a whole 1970s retro kung fu film look so pop round soon if you'd like to check them out too. They're mostly a size 16, but very stretchy.

:)

I'll pop the dress back soon and have a look - but remember you can't get a quart into a pint pot! x
