Portishead

what did you think of the new stuff?

I heard them at ATP and was impressed.

Although hearing the old favourites live for the first time (for me) and beth's voice was borderline emotional

I really like the new album, it sounded amazing last night, especially "The Rip" (starts of folk, turns in to Kraftwerk), and Threads (Beth Gibbons screeching with emotion at the end..).

Last nights gig in Hammersmith was fucking ace, you are in for a treat at the Acadamy

They must have played most of Dummy. I'm not sure what was new and what was off the second album as I don't know it too well, and there was only one tune that I didn't like, very unusual as normally a way into a gig and I'm all "now play your big tune and then fuck off!" :)

Attention to detail as a show was spot on

Gig venues now stink though, I had to resort to sparking up a reefer, as did my mate, much to the surprise of the fella stood right behind us

I may even go to Brixton to see about knock-down tickets two minutes before they take the stage

Ace

:)

Anyone know what touts do with tickets once the band are on stage?

I am answering my own question here, but I guess it all depends on how many people are around?

I live nearby so it's not any hassle to go and have an ask

Anyone done it, though?

:)

Wow, fantastic! The reworking of "Wandering Star" was heartstopping, and the new material sounds amazing. Looking forward to getting the new album.

That was really rather good, wasn't it :)

Hair-raising, skin-prickling.

Most shocking moment: Beth apologising for not being very good

I thought that was odd - seen her say that before though, think on the NYC or something - sounded awesome to me though...

That was amazing! What an atmosphere, everyone seemed really happy to be there.

And no wonder, they were incredible
