Poor dinny cannot catch a break

8den

No I'm pretty sure that was 8ball...
I was supposed to take dinny up for his thumbs up all clear check up to the vet this morning. We got up let him out to wee for fifteen minutes, and then took him in for his breaky and morning antibotics. He was coughing up phelm and breathing heavily.

I went over to the vet early and he wasn't happy, he thought dinny might have a secondary infection, but there was definitively fluid in the poor boy's lungs.

So it was a rush back to the vetinary hospital this morning, to put him back on the iv and the oxygen cage. If he's stable tomorrow they're sticking a camera into his lungs, to see if it's an infection or a piece of bone lodged in there. He's in as bad condition as he was this day last week, with the same odds.

Arse fuck shit.

Bloody hell, If it wasn't for bad luck Dinny wouldn't have any at the moment would he??

Sorry to hear this matey, fingers going back into crossed mode again

Oh fucking hell - poor dinny. :(

Just keep positive...he came through it the first time...he's clearly a little toughie.

Best wishes

Thanks guys, he's in an oxygen cage and sleeping (which is a really good sign). They're sticking a camera into his lungs tomorrow to see what's causing this, so he's not out of the woods yet.

We've got the little'un waiting patiently

How's dinny doing?

Please let us know.

My fingers are still crossed for him.

Hey sorry. We're in two minds. He's stablised. The vet wanted to send a camera into his lungs, but there's a risk doing that. There's also a possibility it's just pneumonia. So we're playing the waiting game, wait a day or two, get some more X-rays, and see if his lungs drain any more, and if they've not, we'll send the camera down.

It's just his brother is just in a panic and cannot sleep, he literally tore his pen apart in fear and confusion last night, I ended up sleeping down stairs with him in front of the embers of the fire, and me on the couch. I keep looking at how upset Dougal is, and how stressful this is for him, and realise it must be ten times worse for his brother. I can't even go visit him tomorrow because I've got a plumber coming. :(

I'll keep my fingers crossed for the pneumonia then, poor little sausage.

And poor poor Dougal, give him a big love from me.

(((Dougal & Dinny)))

Guess you'll be downstairs again tonight then.

Actually the bugger had a better night's sleep than me and barely moved, we're trying to have him sleep on the floor at the end of the bed.

Good luck & fingers crossed. It must be really stressful with you thinking he'd got better and that.

Oh no. :(

Poor dinny.

So sorry to hear that 8den, thoughts are with you.

Dougal doesn't know why we're crying, thinks it a game.

We were with him earlier tonight. He was doing really well friday, so we held off on the endoscope ,to see if he'd improve by himself, rather than risk the anesthetic on such a weak, young dog.

Another vet called this morning to say he was doing okay and they'd leave him on oxygen till monday and then if he'd not improved go for the endoscope. He called again around six saying he was doing fine.

Then our own vet called ten minutes later, he was at the hospital, and no dinny was not okay he was in worse condition then when I'd first taken him in on Thursday. We rushed over, he was in an appalling state, but our vet said they'd stabilise him overnight and he'd personally do the endoscope tomorrow afternoon. We left poor dinny around half nine, our vet left around ten, and then around half eleven the nurse called and dropped the bombshell.

This isn't fucking happening...
