Polly Toynbee: 'Brown must go'

Sorry, I know you are joking but I can't think of an instance like that with Jesus. can you help?
There's that section in (I think) the apocryphal gospel of St Thaddeus, when Jesus preaches against the Star Wars prequels, but then an old man wanders by and sets out why they are, in many respects, just as good as the original films although necessarily they do not provoke the excitement and wonder of the old films, and Jesus relents and demonstrates that even the greatest of us should listen to dissenting opinion, for we may learn something. Later commentators have argued that Jesus only pretended not to like the prequels in order to make a point about non-dogmatism to his disciples but personally I think this is fanwanking.

Of course it is not impossible - provided that Jesus, if he existed in the way suggested in the New Testament, and provided also that he really was God, who exists outside of time, that this Jesus would be able to express an opinion about Star Wars, its prequels and sequels.

I wonder what his opinion of The Life of Brian would have been/would be/will be in the future. Has/will/did Jesus read Polly Toynbee's article about Brown whose future has already happened from one of his many perspectives.

What did/will Jesus think of the question "How do you make God laugh" and the answer "Tell him your plans for the future".

All of course supposing that Jesus was/is/will be God.

I cant imagine for a second that JC or any other spiritual master in history would ever justify the first 2. It's probably just mis-reported by someone with an agenda. "Revenge of The Sith" is an exception and a possible allegory for the power of satanism.

The context of the story is some of the disciples dismissing various people (rich merchants and vain actors, for example) as unworthy of the Lord's attention, but Jesus' argument is that some apparently 'unworthy' sinners are just as deserving of His love as the more traditional and obvious recipients, i.e. 'cool' Japanese films and Simon Pegg films, but only the ones that he helped write and not that one about doing the marathon and not that other one either, you know the one I mean, set in a magazine office in America. Because some CGI-heavy films that so-called Pious Men would dismiss as unworthy contain riches if ye shall but look for them, amen.

It's hard to argue with thy theoligical expertise Alex, but I still don't really buy all your interpretation.

You'll be telling us next that Zoraster denied romcoms were analagous to the relationship between the personal and the divine.

So what's the problem here?
Like I said, she is a middle class babyboomer who says she supports wider interests, but really, when it comes down to it, supports the narrow interests of her own class. She is representative of those within civil society who nurtured and supported the New Labour project. Is she to be trusted now that she's grumbling? No. Her interests remain the same.

(And that, Awesome, is precisely what I mean by "liberal hand wringer": espoused concern for this issue or that, while supporting policies that keep the power and wealth in her own kaftan pocket).

There has never been a better time to invest in a P38

Crap weapon for mass neck-shooting though, it's only got an 8 round mag. You'd be forever changing magazines as you walked along the rows of class enemies. I'd go for something more prosaic and functional, like a Browning Pro-(, which is plug ugly, but has twice the capacity of your Walther.
