Red peppers are good.
Even better is if you either make or find someone who sells smoked red pepper jam or chutney.
This one's a bit weird, but a friend introduced me to it and it's surprisingly good ... strawberry jam (put it on the bread before you add the cheese and grill it). I know, I know - but it really is nice. Also works very well with mint jelly.
There's nowt wrong with cheese 'n' jam on toast.

I had some toast with a pasta sauce that I cooked last night on it (onions, tomatoes, olive oil, oregano, chillies, red pepper, black pepper) with a bit of cheese on it for lunch. And that was good.

how do you pickle grapes?

my cheese on toast usually consists of cheese, black pepper, bit of oregano, and tobasco/hot pepper sauce. I really want some now I've thought about it!

Wash pat grapes dry. Put in jar.

120g granulated sugar, 150ml Distilled Malt Vinegar 150ml Dry white wine into a saucepan until sugar dissolves. Add 1tsp coriander berries and boil for 2 mins. If liked, slit and de seed a green chilli, put down the jar in strips with 2 star anise. Pour syrup over grapes making sure they are all covered.

Seal and cool then keep for a week.

Yum :D

pickled chopped green chillis. yummmy.

Wowsers! You're on the money there, kiddo.

All poll options, except pineapple, but the ultimate is as much chilli sauce as possible, or as many fresh chillis as possible.

Thats similar to one of my favourite breakfasts... a toasted bacon and cheese sandwich with raspberry/ cherry/ cranberry jam. Works best with brie *drool* but any old chedder will do.

Besides, whats wrong wih "virgin" cheese on toast?
