Politics radio talk show needs help...

(have checked with the Editor that this post is OK)

I'm getting swamped by the new talk radio show I'm putting together for when Parliament kicks off next month. Can anyone think of anyone who would like to get some real radio production experience? Put them in touch...

Production, Publicity and Web help needed for sharp witted talk show about the UK political scene…

(nobody is getting paid - Resonance is a community station)

We aim to make a noise – will you help us?

The Knives Are Out

6.30pm LIVE every Tuesday on Resonance 104.4FM - starting October 10th

On Tuesday evenings the entire political class prepares itself for the serious business of Prime Ministers Questions the next day. The future of our nation is at stake....but you'd never guess it from the filth, bile and gossip that flows around the Westminster Village.

You won't hear the half of it from the BBC...if you want the unpalatable truth about the greasy pole of UK politics then you need Resonance 104.4FM.

Two top bloggers - Guido Fawkes and Recess Monkey...goaded into ever more lurid revelations by presenter Piers Gibbon and disarmingly sharp comic Hils Barker.

The Knives are Out LIVE every Tuesday night at 6.30 on Resonance 104.4FM

ah..thanks...maybe I should have put this in Employment forum

anyway good to know our listener figures have just doubled ;-)

I could see about pointing some year 13's your way, or would that be more of a hinderence?
What locale?

D.

(would volunteer myself, but can't wuite spare the time right now)

no, I can't quite spare the time either eeek

hmm 13 year olds could be useful for a "what do they think about Gordon?" featurette in the future...if you can scrounge up minidisc and ok microphone to record them?

Resonance is in Soho btw

Year 13 = 18year olds... ;)

Could link it into media/business/design/other/filling time/i need a coffee course.

Not sure what level of response i would get, but if you want I can try and get some involvement... A little out of the way at the mo, but recording a show could be an interesting lesson in discussion techniques. Will speak to a few colleagues tomorrow to see what the schools attitude will be

I`m wanting to get into radio, I`ve been talking to a big local christian radio station about getting a show. I`d love to get involved in your project but I`m miles away, sorry.

Good luck though. :)

Listening to this now, it's pretty good! It's like the old Urban75 radio but with higher profile contributors. And Piers, you have an excellent radio voice! Will be listening to every episode, oh yeah is it on iTunes yet?:)

Jesus, I really like this, it's so simple and unpretensious. It says on the site it's on iTunes but can't find it, damn shame this is the kind thing I like to listen to on the way into work...

I thought this was excellent. Congrats on a good show. :)

If you ever want a Green talking head, just give us a bell. ;)

The programme didn't get me wanting to tune in next week as it stands. For me it all started to go wrong when the mixed bag of presenters started to get all excited and giggly. Talking over one another didn't help matters either.

The one major problem in the programme was appearing to talk about issues and individuals nobody knew much about. An apparent made-up story got me to reach for the off button.

Sorry. :(

Tonight on The Knives Are Out we'll be covering the usual scandals and sleaze plus General Dannatt's coup, Gunner Blunkett, Youtube, Stupid Parliamentary Question of the week, That Nice Paisley Man and Veils

and anything else you bring to our attention via the dial-a-rant-or-shop-a-politician line....

eta...even though we are unpaid and not likely to make a profit I don't want to run the risk of "advertising" a pay phone number on the estimable u75...so if you'd like the number please visit our site

We really want to hear from listeners - and the u75 community is ideally placed to send us sound files anytime on [email protected]

We don’t want to read out loads of emails and comments - we want to *hear* what you think…record your 10 second or less soundbite (mp3,wav,aiff) and email it to us anytime…[email protected] …we can pick up your soundbite in the studio and play it out live..

If you can’t record yourself on a computer then you can call the auto-rant line anytime (see our website for the number - even though we don't make any money…it will cost you 50p but that will automagically email us your sound file instantly)

We will then play your comments…Live at 6.30pm every Tuesday night on Resonance 104.4 FM in London…or streamed live from

http://icecast.commedia.org.uk:8000/resonance.mp3.m3u

or podcast later from the website

Tuesdays show was the best yet! Much better sound, rarely did everyone speak over each other and a diverse range of views. Nice one PG!

thanks..glad you enjoyed it - we did..lots of snickering..

we do have to watch the talking over each other thing though - i hate hearing that myself on radio 4/5

ta!

As does Offline regular platter-spinner DJ Wrongspeed who's a lovely bloke!

I really wouldn't try to read that much into Shalyer's association.
