Politics of the work ethic

Those who don't work, won't eat. Those who don't eat, can't think. Those who can't think, don't work.
<.......................................................................................................................................I

St Paul:
"Those who don’t work, shall not eat."
It sounds like some one acting like Paul, but not quite like Paul.....

2 Thessalonians 3:10 (KJV)
.....that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

The labourer in the discipleship of Christ is also worthy of his hire according to Luke 10:7.

As for work ethic politics, it benefits to work within the proper season, and to leave off working during its time. There is a time and season for every purpose under heaven, and the cause of the poor will be fairly judged: forasmuch as we have modernization, yet, some things have not changed in reguards to the treatment of the poor and working people.

There are a couple constants describing the last days that I like to highlight in the Prophets, indicating the yoke of many will be broke off in comparison to labouring in the sweat of the face:

Daniel 12:4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
and

Zechariah 8:10
For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.
Hire for man and hire for beast affords time for not working, the need for working will not be present.

Heheheheheeeeeeeeeee.... Indeed, imagine, for instance, the religious Right in the US doing that sorta sheeeeeeeeeeet...:p:D

Sustenance should not mean drudgery.
Work should not mean drudgery.
Humans were not born to suffer.

When Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, I don't think he was making some general point about a "work ethic" (although this is how his words have been taken). The situation in the community he was writing to was one of extreme expectation of the second coming of christ. More a question of "Why the fuck should I go to work if Jesus is going to come back this afternoon?" than "Why the fuck should I go to work?"
