Let's just say I spent getting on for fifteen years pretty much full time in politics, including a stint as an MP's agent, and another spell as a Parliamentary assistent. You do not want me to list all the politician's I've met.

Pierre Trudeau

I've also met three premiers of British Columbia, but nobody would know them.

edited to add, almost tripped over Clinton at Heathrow, but only pleasantries exchanged, nothing meaningful.

And Jessie Jackson at a conference in Chicago. I suppose he's a politician.

Local MP for Manchester Central Tony Lloyd. Bit of a party toe-the-line-r but decent enough on enough issues.

Neil Kinnock when a member of an anti-racism organisation that was handing in some petition at Walworth Road Labour HQ.

George Galloway - interviewed him, more of a quick soundbite thing.

Ben Bradshaw, he came to supper with his partner, he was a friend of a friend and it was the mutual friend hosting the dinner party.

Hilliary Benn - very dilligent, respectful, certainly acts like he's interested.
Barbara Follet - horrible, patronising, insincere and stupid.
Blunkett - Arrogant twat.

Tom Brake, Lib Dem M.P for Carshalton. He was at a Direct Action workshop at climate camp. Watching him lock a D-Lock around his neck and try out the arm tubes was very amusing, although he didn't take kindly to the suggestion that he'd certainly raise his profile if he tried it in the HoC :D His P.A was bricking it in the doorway of the marquee that someone would take pictures - I forgot my camera

(i) a bit of a sense of humour by-pass on his part.

(ii) Never heard of him. Not very astute PA - should have been hoping someone would take his photo to get him and climate change some publicity and raise his profile. (although i do think it would have been poor form for someone to take his photo surreptitiously in a workshop.)

:D I think it was his P.A, she just look terrified as we were asked to discuss 'direct actions we can take part in' and the like. Bless.

Lots, actually. Tommy Sheridan, Denis Canavan, Jim Sillars, John McAllion, Kenny McAskill, Sylvia Jackson, Alex Neil, Maria Fyfe... Ooh, Garret FitzGerald.

Caroline Lucas, a handful of Green councillors and PPCs and John Cryer, former Labour MP for Hornchurch and one time extra in The Railway Children.

Oh, and Brian Haw, with the guy who superglued himself to Gordon Brown

Aye, i'll add McAllion as i've chatted to him at football on a good few occasions.

Add...

Joe Higgins
Tony Benn

Brian Lenihan. Michael Lowry (Irish pols). Oh, and Enda Kenny came to my great-aunts funeral.

I've also met Lord Carlisle's daughter and Kate Hoey's nephew (who I won't name as he didn't want anyone knowing he was related to Ms. Hoey).

Mandelson on a flight. Exactly what you'd expect.
Prescott at Edinburgh train station. Quite thick, surprisingly short and with horribly obvious died black hair.
Condi at an American Embassy reception. Very charming and clever.

Andrew MacKinlay, Thurrock MP. Sound bloke, really interested in improving the local community; I felt embarrassed for him on HIGNFY. At the age of 15 I got seated next to his wife at some quite big function, got drunk on free wine and told her dirty jokes.

I also shared a table with the Mayor of Berlin at a gala dinner at the Fernseherturm after wandering in pretending to be a journalist, aged 20.

My mum was the first person I ever voted for. No one cares cuz I can't spill her name :(

Yeah, I don't think votes count if you spell the person's name wrongly.

Tony Blair came to my school after the General Election in '97. He came to my French class and asked me how I was getting on. I said "fine thank you" when what I really wanted to say was "Your wife is SERIOUSLY weird looking" :D

Scargill, Benn, Tony Banks, Livingston, Charles Clarke, Mo Mowlam, Eric Heffer,Frank Dobson, Jack Straw, John Denman, Paul Boetang,Baroness Scotland, Keith Vaz, Bernie Grant,Phil Woolas.

From the rev left: Cliff, Hallas, Tariq Ali, Paul Foot, Dereck Hatton.
