Politicians - suits or not?

Depends on the occasion ,but, probably suit of some type or other is nesscary to be taken seriously .They had this discussion on arrse recently when some one wanted to lay into Brown for wearing a suit in afgan.
Though they all hate him it basically came down to he could wear a suit and be taken seriously .Dress casually and have his choices picked apart .Or put on a uniform and be laughed at.

I'm sure that mild insult must have filled an gap in the emotional void that is your personality, but do you have an opinion on Matt S's question at all?

Thats coming from someone with the perosnality, emotional development and analytical capability of a newshambore politicians pager:rolleyes: The . i posted earlier was with regards to butchers post but dont let that get in the way of your 'career worm fabian fetish'

Are we electing people on their dress sense or their politics? I would rather have a decent politician than a smart turned out hack. I wasn't a fan of the 'trendy London labour left' who deliberately 'scruffed down' to look like, whet they thought the electorate looked like however.

Come to Scotland to see many many well turned out politicians, but not an ounce of integrtity between them. Even the caught out liars are well turned out....

Even the most common conman knows to put a suit on.
this ^^^ .. i do NOT trust people in suits pretty well .. they tend to be wannabees and crawlers .. there are many ways to be well dressed and respectfull .. reducing it to suit wearing just shows desperation and dishonesty of pretty well all politicians ..

and that tie wearing still exists outside of fashion is frankly unbelievable

Assuming we're only talking about what "our" (i.e. Greens, Socialists, IWCA etc) politicians should wear then surely it should be what they'd normally wear for work (within reason).
