Police use CS spray in Parliament

could have only been a mild dose but no vomitting gasping for breath feeling like someones going to jack boot on your skull or at least thiswould be prefferable to the pressure which builds up and the faint sensation of being chemically burned are all my memories of the stuff oh and that if upwind from the dispersal don't fucking run into it trying to lead others out that way leads to more people stranded....

Upwind of a dispersal before getting utterly fugged with it i can say it was an unpleasent sensation which still produced gagging and that chemical burn around the eyes which was merely a midler dose of the more intense reactions...

but not mild itching no....

has CS got more powerful (or am i just less able to deal with it) since the 90's as i remember being in a pub which was cs'ed by the bnp and it had less affect on me than at other times??

You just felt itchy? Because i don't think you got CS gassed.(worthless argument)

I didn't just say that did I? Try reading my posts again where I said stings like fuck.

Why are you quizzing me so much and no-one else? I don't get why you're so interested? Have you a problem with me or something? :hmm:

No, i have no prolem with you at all zenie, your description doesn't match mine. We've worked out why. No probs :)

truly horrible stuff but better alternative than battering some leary drunk.
thats why some plod perfer the taser.
the scary aiming laser tends to get people to do what you want without having to use it :hmm:

It's one of the most scary thing i've had happen to me. I'm terrified of it happening again.
even though you cannot be preparred for it do you not think that your experince of it has in effect taught you what to expect (not that it makes the sensation any easier to deal with at the time; but at least you know you aren't going to die from it in 'normal' circumstances) however disablling you know it will be at the time?

equally dispersal in the open air isn't the same as in a closed enviroment IMO...

Well yeah, i' m still here.

had a PSI who was in love with mass clouds of CS gas as we were
training to face the red hordes he could indugle his fetish to the max.
bit rough on the anglers down range, the royal artillery fox hunt, and a rave
who were down range

I'm wondering whether the BNP were chucking little cannisters illegally imported from somewhere like the US, where I believe they are or were sold in some states to civilians as "personal protection" - arguably, ripping off their fearful customers.

which is why i'm asking obviously if it's still sucha frightening experince other whether you have become conditioned to it...

no idea i know the canister's which were used in bil'en were fired motar stylee from what looked like baton round guns were as the one in the pub was like a large cigar tube about the width of a toliet roll middle...

the baton round cartridges seemed smaller in size terms... (and were still toxic after being spent...)

The twice i've been gassed was by Italian police and in the open. It's bad enough when your inches from the gas in the open let alone in an enclosed space. A few years ago a Roma Lazio Derby was halted after a rumour of a child being killed spread. The mayhem after that was well splashed on the tv. What wasn't so weidely broadcast was the Italian OB tear and cs gassing people on toilets and alleyways around the ground. The layout of the Stadio Olimpico measns that some people got trapped in toilets unable to get out but desperate to get out to escape the gas.

bil'en?

I'm guessing that it's one of the places where there's a weekly protest against land-grabbing by the Israeli wall...

Also spelled "Bil'in".

Last week's casualties:

Others who've been there suggest that the Israeli armed forces are trying out all sorts of substances in their "tear gas" cannisters. Oh to get a spent round to a proper laboratory for analysis...

I've had some weird liquid shit sprayed on my face in my eyes etc (outside hackney town hall :-) - what was that stuff?

Had burns over face and neck for quite a while - a couple of weeks in the case of the worst effected area - and eyes were dead sore for days - but it was a liquid??

certainly it was unlike any other experince i've had with cs...

not at all pleasent, though i'm no scientist so would be able to state with any assurance that they have added other things, or whether it's all part of the propaganda war which is inevitable considering the situation...

i wouldn't put it past those who police the demos from the IDF from my own experince...

certainly the seemingly 'harmless' rubber bullets seem to do significant damage to temples of journos who are 'caught' in the cross fire (don't two groups need to be firing at each other for this to be a cross fire??) would beg to differ if indeed they are coherent enough to mention it ever again...

cs gas is a bit of a mis nomer it's a spray really which is a form of liquid unless it's 'vapourised' into a gasious form (via a baton round or similar) otherwise it's a liquid spray...

it's composition (long chain polymer?) is such that it makes it very difficult to remove from the skin or clothing once it is contaminated with it... as it tends to stick around...

Well, it needs to be dispersed somehow. I'd only really heard about it as a powder or a liquid but I suppose there are all sorts of methods. I heard somewhere about a riot round which was little rubber balls with CS powder in the cartridge too, which sounds like a right laugh.

CS gas is horrible, horrible shit that should never be used by anyone on anyone else for any reason ever. The effects can be very severe, particularly if you happen to be asthmatic or you are wearing contact lenses or you simply run into a copper who decides you need half a bottle of the stuff pumped into your face.

Chemical weapons + collective punishment = not cricket at all.

dunno the last rubber bullets fire in my direction we the size of 50p's in diameter and around 2 to 3 cms thick more like lenghts of rubberised lead tubing...

big enough to break bones and shatter temples, or pulversie kidneyies as more than one person found out...

they cs gas canister baton rounds however are like slim lynx cans ...

I've been in a pub that was pepper sprayed once. That wasn't too pleasant, but not the worst thing ever.
