Police disguised as Protestor at Bush Demo!!!

Hmm, that article's a bit 'so what?', since there seems to be corroborating evidence from persons other than Gorgeous George. Interesting to see how violently they hate him though, I'm sure that can't be healthy.

or unbiased...

yet again the real non fish left piling in to make capital out of it for their own ends getting hurphmmming at other real non fish left groups who are saying the police were out of line...

and thus this is why all left wing groups organiseations and agencies become ever increasingly irrelvant...

could you all not grow up atocuh and stop syaing my dad's bigger than you dad and actually face the problem at hand rather than consistantly trying to make poltical captial out of mutual self assured destruction...

you fucking mugs..

not seen any evidence that galloway was actually there for more than a few seconds

i was there, i saw him turn up and scurry off, at no point did i see him on the front line

No resemblance at all, not wearing a white t-shirt, not 28, not tall, well-built and handsome. FAIL.

Already edit the post when I read more comments on socialist unity....

This is more interesting though:

Incidently,

If you look at the blog of Linda Jack, who is a Lib Dem, and a friend of Yasmin Whittaker-Khan,
http://lindyloosmuze.blogspot.com/2008/06/thug-or-stooge-police-officer-on-anti.html

Linda says that she was at the same party as Yasmin when they met the police officer in question.

Linda Jack confirms that Yasmin actually addressed Inspector Chris Dreyfus by name at the demo, and he responded to her, and acknowledged her.

what i don't understand is why he wouldn't have masked up to imitate black block or similar types... then he'd not have been recognised at all...

what i don't understand is why he wouldn't have masked up to imitate black block or similar types... then he'd not have been recognised at all...

Which goes back to what DB posted. If this was a provocation then they would not have used a BTP Inspector whose face had been all over the papers and who was likely to have been recognized by people in the crowd. He was probably just protesting, or getting "caught" for his own ends.

So the argument against it is that the cops wouldn't do something dumb and counter-productive? I think I see a flaw in the reasoning!

Well I guess it all depedns how serious the operation was...after all were they really expecting a huge demo they could exploit?

...or were they just "keeping their hand in" in such techniques as it were using what could be expected to be a fairly lifeless rump demo for practise?

Would explain the carelessness and slack nature of the operation if there was one.

nope more that my argument at least is the the cop did something dumb...

I agree - was responding to agricola.

He probably assumed that crusties don't read newspapers, and didn't count on there being politicos near enough to the action to figure out who he was. Which is not an unreasonable assumption given that Georgie at least seems to have scarpered as fast as his little legs would carry him at the first sign of trouble, but it was pretty careless nonetheless.

There is dumb, and then there is actually planning to use as an agent-provocateur an Inspector, from another force than the Met, whose picture identifying him as a police officer has been in most of the national papers within six months and who may well have a grievance relating to his being denied promotion.

Garf is correct, this is almost certainly one person turning up at a demo at his own behest.

I am not saying it isnt - just that its far more likely he was doing this on his own, for his own reasons.

which might be linked to wanting to cause/incite a public disturbance regardless of offical sanction or not...

personally if he has done it then he should be fired and then jailed, and the MET regardless would/Should have to issue guidelines to officers about their attendance in future demos when 'off duty' which would ban them from being their, as well as by default then opening up the flood gates to compensation for anyone injured in the clash by the police...

Offical capacity or not he is a serving officer and should not have been inciting anything...

even if precedent says this isn't always what happens...

on the flip side what would the off duty copper have done if he was preventing a public disturbance and it was revalled that in a confrontational situation he was one of 'them' rather than with the protestors... doesn't bode well for their individual safety...

One would imagine that, if the FIT teams, or indeed anyone else, has evidence that this officer was doing what he is alleged to have done, then disciplinary (or even criminal) action will shortly follow.

I would also point out that Met guidelines wouldnt be much of a help for this chap as he is BTP.

Well, now that he has been outed by politicians maybe. Otherwise, I think not!

The obvious answer is ... that it wasn't agent provocateur ...

(But it's quite amusing to watch everyone trying so hard to make it real so it fits their preconceived ideas ... )

You can get treatment for serious paranoia, you know ...

If what he was doing merited subsequent investigation (and the vast majority of stuff like that is never pursued subsequently) then his picture would have been circulated and, if he had been identified (which he probably would) he would have been charged / disciplined just the same.

His behaviour will likely lead to serious disciplinary sanction even if nothing would have happened to any ordinary punter doing the same (and so it should).

So you'd remove their human rights simply because they are police officers? Fuck off ...

no you fuck off and cease defending the MET's agent provocatures.

to all intents and purposes this muppet has removed your human rights by being neither capalbe of controlling himself or by consdiering his position.

or he was there to deliberately stur up trouble and in which case ian blair and all the top rung of the met should now be suspended and this man should be in Jail.

see you can't have it both way's either the rights of the public not to be influtrated by police as a matter of course in order to provoke and discredit their legitimate, legal protest. In which case police are no longer allowed to personally attend due to this mans actions.

he's burnt your bridges on individual freedom for coppers.

or the Police have an active policy of systematic instantatious sacking for any officer who is found to have acted in this manner and they are subsiquently charged with some new offence which carries with it a sentence of 40 years, no parole. Such is the seriousness of what he's done.

coppers are never technically off duty had he made any legitimate arrests that day then they would have been followed up. He's already abstained the police from their human rights by his actions. Once again there is another death knell in the coffin of pulbic faith in the MET...

and once again you are attempting to defend the indefenceable, with whining and carrering around like a wounded bull...no fucking suprise whatsoever.

as far as most people are concerned when you don that uniform you've made a consious descsion to wave your human rights as you actively do to those you fit up...

fuck you and your courupt organiseation, by it's very nature you and all of them active and retired are tainted by this mans actions if the prove to be true...

 I think we've got an agent provocateur posting on Urban. I hope they're paying you well to post this nonsense.
