How can people say that polenta is duller than quinoa? Quinoa is something you'd only eat if there is nothing else. Which is why is so popular in the very bleak bits of the altiplano.

I'd rather eat polenta (and it is quite grim)

I love polenta. I particularly love it grilled with taleggio on top. The taleggio melts into the polenta, and the result is the heaviest, most filling winter food possible. Trouble is, it's so smelly all the neighbours get to know what you're having for dinner.

I love polenta - it's so incredibly versatile - gorgeous with some fresh herbs stirred in and/or butter and some kind of cheese - then cooled in a baking dish and grilled - YUM! Or sometime I use the cooled base and top it with roasted veg in a tomato sauch - sort of like a pizza meets lasagne type affair - but much healthier.

The best thing about polenta is that all the local shops sell it and it's dirt cheap!!

Polenta, bloody great dauds of it - usually fried & covered with one of a variety of sauces or gravy seemed to be the staple diet of the prostitutes who frequented my local cafe when I lived in Geneva. Usually washed down with coffee or several glasses of strong spirits/schnapps etc. The place had it on the menu from early morning to late night.
