I can't see astrologers liking this one bit :)

eta but then they should have seen this coming.

Mmm, so what happened to astrology when they discovered it. Pluto was only discovered in 1930s but astrology has been around for aeons. Did astrologers suddenly 'discover' lots of new effects I wonder?

They've already got to work on the new planets!

The teaching in western astrology, the only astrological system in the world which accepts new planets, is that when a new planet is discovered and named, the archetype of that planet is available to everyone on Earth. The name of the planet counts, so does the planet's mythology and the story of the planet.

But one conclusion may certainly be drawn right away. Had the name Xena stuck, then this new planet would have represented the female archetype of sacred warrior. Chiron represents the male archetype of sacred warrior. Both archetypes would have been discovered in the cosmos and would have been available to each person on this planet. This would have been a call to each of us to balance the yin and yang, male and female within.

Well, regardless of the name of this planet, I am of the view that the era of matriarchal or patriarchal dominance is over. We enter a period where both are celebrated together, and not one at the expense of the other.

Because of this planet's slow orbit, everyone alive today has UB313 in either Pisces or Aries. Thus the house placement rather than sign placement in the natal astrological chart will be the significant factor in determining UB313's meaning.

And there I was thinking that they just made this shit up as they went along...:D

hehe, a superb piece of hedgebetting. Whatever the scientists decide - it's covered. Sadly though, no acknowledgement that astrologers should have been able to divine this without the help of a bunch of sceptic astronomers.
