Please dissuade me from buying this...

I just bought and collected a 1962 Humber Super Snipe saloon car.

Its in really nice condition, drove back from Thurrock to my home in NW London today no problems.

A steal for £1550 I think! All MoT'd and everything. Old enough for free road tax.

The leather seats are so comfy - its like driving a large, well-worn leather sofa!

Giles..

If your still thinking of the alph I would worry about the rust with a recent "renovation" it should not be bubbling up now and rust can be like an ice burg lots more you dont see, also wax oil should be re applied every year if not done its pointless.
The daily use wear and tear should be evident in the price. as with all old cars you will need to look after it or it will let you down and fall to bits pdq. It will cost to keep on the road.

if you really want a classic choose which one it is and look for it but also read up on it join a forum of enthusiasts and get somone who knows that marque to look it over prior to spending your bread on it.

On a posive note looks like a fun car to bang around in i've fancied an alpha on and off for years. but also really like my aircooled dubs (look at pics of karman ghias)
