snapdragons. they had moving jaws, ffs! bright pink flowers with fierce bitey jaws!

We used to get daisies, hold them in a fist with thumb under the head of the daisy and say 'Mary Queen of Scots got her head chopped OFF!' then pop the head off the daisy happy days

Don't know what plant it was, but it had sticky bobbly buds you could nick off, and throw them and they'd stick to anything

MissFran - oh yes - I remember those weed things with the end that goes flying off when you loop the stalk around it....

Can't remember for the life of me what they're called!

I remember we used to whip each other with weeping willow branches after stripping all the leaves off

We made perfume out of rose petals (well it was a kind of muddy rosewater)

They are called Plantain.

Hay bales (in barns to make dens with and round in fields to roll down slopes)

The river to swim in and make rafts on.

Ice on the water meadows in the winter.

Posh house orchard in the autumn.

That'll be cleavers - we called them sticky willies.

Bindweed flowers -squeeze the green bit till the flower jumps out and say "and Granny jumps out of bed" as it does

Blades of grass for whistling noises

Those seeds with wings that twirl on the way down.

Most of the maples.

Those grass seeds that stick in people's clothes and hair.

Playing hide and seek in fields of corn

Plaiting grass and making jewellery with it. Ditto daisy chains

What about that stickyweed stuff. Grows amongst brambles, sticks to natural fibres.
