Obviously it would have reprocussions effecting promotions and relegations throughout the leagues.

Could each Coca Cola league handle an extra 2 teams in each division?

Would they welcome the opportunity of playing 2 extra home games a season, meaning more money to be made on match days.

Apart from the local teams around here I don't pay much attention below the Championship, I'll admit to that. Are teams in League's 1 and 2 supported well enough to structure this?

With the Conference also getting tv coverage these days, perhaps the cull could be stopped at the league's below them. Obviously a major blow to those who may have come up, but strictly speaking they arn't 'professional' yet anyway?

Also there is the added problem, more and more teams over the next few season's are going to go into Administration. It's going to happen wether we like it or not. 15-20 years down the line we could be looking at their only being enough teams to fill 3 leagues in a 'professional' sense!

Pathetic idea, Although I'd like the idea of the champions league being replaced by a proper world club championship.

Obviously if that came in we'd desperatly need to reduce the EPL to 18 teams, which I think should happen anyway to be on par with the rest of Europe!
18 - why 18 ?

England top division 20 teams

France top division 20 teams

Italy top division 20 teams

Spain top division 20 teams

Germany 18 teams as do Holland

but with 20 teams the EPL is not alone.

send the yanks Derby vs Wigan.

a giant anamatronic Emille Heskey marching down Wall Street. Fantastic

Given where the Dolphins and Giants are in terms of ability in the NFL at present, that is pretty much what happened at Wembley last night.

To boost their profile, how about playing a game in China/SEA/India?

over 2/5ths of the world population there and the PL is show there to a level Sky don't match. Every single PL game is shown live at some point during the week.

It might have a few quid but with its small population and even less interest why bother?

Never going to happen, what about season ticket holders and other loyal fans? Which team would take it as their home fixture? etc, etc.

I think he was talking about a one-off game. Not a team playing their whole season there.

I put this up originally as a suggestion for a way for the Premiership to promote itself and give fans in the USA a chance to see a live game, a single live game i.e. exactly what the Americans were doing with there American Football game at Wembley.

I obviously did make that clear enough . . .
