He had a full back up of course
DE9 on the headphones
Alpha Wave - System 7 (Plastikman Acid House Remix)
Yeah FUCKING yeah!!
Mills on with the orchestra now. Really rate that and music that even the oldest git has to recognise as good. Whole thing on YouTube too, what a result
not keen on the orchestral mills, like the 909 linear shit too much
Me too but when I need something lighter it is nice. Not for everyone but you have to tip your hat to the production?
Just picked this up at the Charity shop for £1.50 and very
Same charity shop, just picked up Richie Hawtin – DE9 | Lite - Electronic Adventures for a pleasing £1.00
Why am I only hearing about this (SOLD OUT) gig now
because you're a bit slow
i knew about it AGES ago
I worked his gig last night at the M'cr Academy, was amazing. Would've liked to have gone but I'm well skint at mo. My supervisor was safe and let me just watch from the crowd when the bar was quiet, so caught a fair bit of it. Visuals were amazing too, try and grab a spare would be well worth your money.
I have this. Turned me on to Loco Dice
I saw Plastikman in '95 @ Megadog at Brixton Academy. Declined to go with friends this evening, seemed too much of a ripoff.
His final set at Lost at the Vox is still my best set ever - has never and will never (I reckon) be beaten...
... but only a few weeks later I heard the worst set I'd ever heard at The Orbit. He was so totally rubbish it was actually insulting - like he thought this little club up north and it's punters weren't cool, where it's at or worth the effort... chatting to his mates and not giving a fuck.
pissed me right off it did... so I told him so
Just came up at Brixton tube and thought I would ask the touts "how much?".
that rings a bell. bloody hazy bell far off in the distance mind, but I think I was at that one.
he was shit once when i saw him at megadog too. these things happen.
Did anyone go to Brixton?
apparently he was a bit dull.
also, it was reported that someone was found sitting in the urinals.
My first username was Plasmatika in homage to him (i was listening to Musik when I signed up to urban75)
TBF it would have been possible to predict that by listening to any of the records he's made in the last few years.
like all the minus stuff he's done with magda, troxler and troy pierce. can't say i liked his early plasitkman stuff.
the other way round for me. i think he's dull mcdull from dullsville at the mo and has been for about a decade now.
I don't have the internet at home so can't listen to that but there was a free CD with Mixmag this month (59 minutes)
A long time ago John Peel ran a live set/night of Hawtin/Plastikman. It was probably about 10 years ago and I am trying to track it down. Anyone recall it or (better still) got a link/source to listen/download now?
Long shot I guess but worth asking....
