I would add the totally fabulous climbing rose Madame Alfred Carriere. It does well in shade, smells fab and I could take cuttings for you.

No, it's an old Noisette, probably the best of the bunch for the UK climate.

Austen does sell it though.

anyway, i've decided that i'm going to get rid of some of the grass nearest the house and put beds in dunno what the soil's like, i expect it's shallow and a bit shit, but we'll see.
