How amazing was that fungus that invades ants' minds and then grows out of their heads? How the fuck did that evolve?

I think some similar strains evolved in Camden Town

People ate them, their brains were affected and they felt compelled to grow their own in buckets, sell them on the high street, send spores in the post, there was no end to it.

The mushrooms were taking over and the clever thing is that, just like the ants, they messed with people brains so that they convinced people that they wanted to perpetuate the mushrooms form themselves, rather than as part of the mushroom master plan.

Watched todays with my son (9) who was quite unhappy to see those rotten sharks picking on the seals, until he saw the cute seals having a go at the penguins, which he likes even more than seals. It was a revelation for him though as he always thought Pingu was an accurate portrayal of penguin and seal interaction.

I think the overall moral of this series is: life is weird. Giant sharp-toothed starfish, birds who are into interior decorating, mind-invading fungi, it's all brilliantly weird.
