Plane crash lands on River Hudson, New York

when will hollywood make the film

A fantastic story with a happy ending. The stuff they want for Hollywood films.
The pilot has been given the keys to Ney york city already.
The passengers must be thanking their lucky stars that they had this pilot on board.:)

Until the inquiry finds that the instant the cockpit filled with noises indicating "your left engine is really, really fucked!" he killed the right engine :(

(Just a guess like... unlikely... but it has happened.)

It'd be great if planes did that. Proper warnings:

"pull up...PULL UP....PULL UP YOU TOOL..THAT'S THE FUCKING GROUND"

Yeah, that's happened before. In one case (e2a: Kegworth) passengers in the cabin saw one of the engines on fire, but it wasn't communicated to the crew (why would it?) and the pilots killed the wrong one.

In this case I'd bet against that having happened. I don't know but I'd expect feedback to have improved since earlier incidents, dual engine birdstrike is much likelier than it is accounted for (see recent incident on a Ryanair flight into Ciampino) and this crew seemed to have it together.

Thing is .... the Yanks will credit the success of the incident on american pilots in general, the ground crew, mechanics, the president, the american population, the american flag, the american constituion, the american FAA, the city of New York, the mayor, american city planning, American airways, american safety regulations, and the smart uniform they wear.

But when it comes to the subject of the European-made Airbus that endured - they'll swear it's a piece of shit, not worth the cost of paint on an American-made aircraft.

OK, I think he's cleared on that: right engine looks really, really fucked:

Bit lucky the emerging compressor blades didn't slice the cabin in two...

Campaign for vernarcuar warnings proceeds :) "You forgot to turn the air on, arsehole. You have 15 seconds of consciousness. MASKS. DOWN. NOW." :(
