Places to Visit in Thailand

The most beautiful and unspoilt part of Thailand is only about 100 miles from Bangkok. The quiet fishing village of Pattaya is a small paradise in a country that is quickly being destroyed by commercialism. The beaches are beautiful, the locals will do anything for you and you will leave feeling thoroughly relaxed and refreshed. I spent my honeymoon there and it was a most romantic experience.

Heh, and you wrote that post in the 1970s.

Or you got the wrong town.

Or you were pracitising your rhetorical skills while giving nothing away!

Can't work out whether this is a joke or you're just showing your age. :D

I wouldn't go to Koh Chang (the Thai one) unless you like hanging out with fat, middle-aged english guys with absolutely no desire to enjoy Thai culture (other than shagging young Thai girls).

That place was the most hellish place I've ever visited. Ko Pha Ngan is where you wanna head. Pure paradise. Everything is half the price of Chang, and the vibe is lot cooler.

Haad Yao - that's my fav little corner of Pha Ngan. Check that. You won't wanna leave.

Took your tip and am currently in Haad Yao. :D X 1000. Would type more of my impressions of the country but the net is pricey here.

stop being such a cheapskate. You're probably paying pennies for accommodation/food etc. :D

Been to Perhentians yet? Any photos?

Really enjoyed 6 days up in Haad Yao! (see pic) :)

Went down to Haad Rin for a few nights & hated it. Got everything of value stolen from my bungalow whilst I was asleep on the first night. Then saw a huge (extremely vicious) street brawl between westerners & the locals. It's completely lawless & they were lucky not to get killed. (ok, it wasn't all bad, just at times it seemed no different to cardiff on a sat night...)

The full moon party was also cancelled, but I think that may have been a blessing. On the border with Burma now to renew visa, have no plans as such after that....
