I shall bring Uh Huh Her (and all my other Peej stuff)the next time I come round to culturally pollute your home. Think of it like those carbon off-set people. I'll fix up the Paris Hilton, by planting a PJ Harvey cd in your home.

:D  Genius!! :)

I love PJH ... very  indeed ...

Haven't seen her live for ages mind < at self>

I saw her at Brixton Academy a couple of years ago and she has a huge stage presence, despite being so tiny!

Suspect it was slightly longer ago than that , that gig ... ;) :)

But if we're talking about the same one (we may not be, cos my memory is of a PJ Harvey gig at the Academy about 2 years before that) she was great live then too .... round about a decade later than abovementioned Glasto triumph ... :)

I was never really into her until I saw this on TV

Fucking cool rock-chick with a fucking cool outfit doing nothing except playing guitar and singing - and pissing over everything else on TV.

  :D :D

Bloody hell, she's brilliant!

On that Big Exit video - if you have an eye for detail, you'll see approximatley 120 seconds in, that (offsetting the black jumpsuit) she's wearing glittery stars and stripes stilleto boots.

Which in my book spells R.O.C.K S.T.A.R in fucking big fuck-off letters.

I saw her in the pink catsuit at Glastonbury in the mid 90s.

An' me, it was a sunday afternoon when Glasto used to let people in for free on sundays.

That performance made me fall in love with peej

she is a huge bundle of loveliness, and is more talented than anyone has any right to be.

dodgy politics though :(

I was wondering when someone might mention that...it seemed like the elephant in the room that only you've noticed. :D e2a - she like fox hunting for a start Foo...

Hello btw bus! Do you post on efests?

Me too. Although I wasn't there unfortunately, I watched it on the telly, and she blew me away. This tiny little woman, looking scary in her pink dress and mad make up, who ended up crouched at the edge of the stage, whispering 'little fish big fish swimming in the water...' - and you could have heard a fucking pin drop. Massive presence

She was a quiet unassuming twee Dorset lass when I saw her in the early 90s, which I prefer to the yank rock chick she became actually. The songs were never twee of course.

How was she looking Pie Eye? Healthy/unhealthy?

She looked fine - I mean she's never been fucking Heidi has she but she looked happy to be there and healthy and stuff. It had a bit of an air of a recital about it - must have been the dress and the book of lyrics and the way she moved from instrument to instrument between songs. A recital with Rid of Me in it mind :D

Listening to 'To Bring You My Love' made me cry this morning – don't know why it opened the floodgates. It is such a beautiful song

PJ Harvey is brilliant.

I bought 4 track demos on lovely vinyl when I was a wee lad and promptly dropped it on the floor and a big chunk of it smashed out before I'd even had a chance to listen to it.

I was right sad.

:(

Poor show, hard cheese.

My mate bought the Dry/Demo CD when it first came out, I love the acoustic versions on that, wish I'd taped it at the time I really miss that stuff. They're going for megapounds on eBay now.

Err . . . she was? Not from what I've heard. I know a couple of people that went to sixth form college with her, including one of her ex-boyfriends, and they say she was very quirky, arty and weird - and these are people that aren't exactly your average run of the mill either (one was a squat party DJ for years).

Myself, well, I think she's brilliant. And I think she ought to be celebrated more than she is.

Yes, she's quite pro hunt, and pro countryside alliance as memory serves (though might be wrong on that last one). How someone so patently fabby could ever support the tweed clad miscreants amazes me:confused:

and thanks for the welcome, I am indeed late of the Efests parish, though now departed

Fred Engels was a keen fox hunter, you know.

isn't it true then PieEye?

(i'm ignorant when it comes to anything other than her music tbh)

just saying - someone supports fox hunting - doesn't equate to - this person has shite politics. It means she might have a different perspective on a complicated issue....

anyway I like dancehall and theres loads of homophobia/sexism in the lyrics to that...

:D
