Pitta bread is crap

I've never tried eating tacos, I think I would fail miserably! I don't understand how you can put mince and veggies in a hard shell and then not spill it everywhere???

You can stop any overflow with your chin. I can't really explain how it works....but it does!

I love pitta bread but why is it hotter than the sun when you take it out of the toaster? Toast behaves far better on the fingertips but makes a shitter lunch cos you can't fill it with as much crap and then feel healthy cos you had pitta bread (stuffed with 18 sorts of cheese)

this is true too. just another reason to boycott pitta.

it's so burny fingery! and so you have to do that hoppy fling it on the plate action.

'What the fuck??'

'What??? I'm just chinning my taco.....this dude on tinterweb told me about it!!'

'What have I told you about people on the internet??'

:(

Yeah but like I said, you can stuff it with mars bars and wotsits but you have still only eaten a pitta bread for lunch:cool:
Can't eat nothing else cos fingers are all burnted

Tacos = super-messy but super-fun and I love food you can play with :)

You have to sort of gently bite through the shell and only the shell and then immediately stop biting so that you don't squeeze the whole thing together. Then just hope for the best after that.

Not to be eaten with people you don't know well though.

I keep buying them though, because the idea of pitta bread sounds like such a good one.

I happen to have several unopened packets in my freezer at the moment, from the last time they were BOGOF. :(

I'm the same and have always got one unopened or 2 missing pack in my fridge.

If you try to make a sandwich with it.

I made myself a falafel houmus and lettuce sandwich for lunch and boy was I looking forward to it but the pitta bread always crumbles and breaks and everything falls out and all in all it's just shitbags.

pitta breads are fine for just dipping in things, but try and put anything in them other than wafer thin ham then they are useless. USELESS!

Pitta breads should only be filled with donor meat!

Tortilla wraps always do this to me too.I was trying to put stuff in one at weekend whilst laid in a bed , I looked up and then down again and salsa and lettuce and shit were all spilling out one end as I was puttin them in the other end...

Maybe it's because pita bread contains less water, and no air bubbles.. My theory is that the moisture in normal bread allows quick cooling by evaporation. Also the millions of tiny air bubbles in normal bread act as insulation, preventing the bread from getting very hot in the first place.

Maybe you could always, like, leave it til it cools down a bit, instead of burning your fingers?

Who actually donates donor meat?

I've only ever seen vans with 'give blood' on the side, never 'give meat'.

I had one with prawn cocktail and romaine lettuce that was definitely not crap. Try cutting them across the narrow middle and having two little pockets - makes life a little easier in the 'pittas falling apart' stakes.

^ that's what I do

Still break sometimes, but not if you don't get them wet (e.g. by allowing tomato to touch it)
