Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

I dont understand how you can say it was crap and get all hoity toity about it. Its a film about pirates made by disney, what do you expect? Tolstoy?

Ok, haven't seen the third one but the second was crap, average at best. The point is that the first was a good film, great fun, not too long and everything in it seemed to fit; there weren't any drawn out fight scenes etc. The second wasn't as good, it just seemed like they didn't know what to do with it.

If you're going to make fun popcorn films at least attempt to make em good (there are plenty that aren't some great story but still work well within their context).

it were a pirate film it were.. arrrr

'bout pirates

it were piraty

also slightly hippyish in places but I wasnt really expecting in depth plot twists and a haunting dialogue - I was expecting piraty stuff with buckles being swashed etc.. so in that respect it delivered fine and dandy. Fucking long film though.

:D

I fukn loved it. It's just a fun film.
Pirates! Lotsa johnnys! Swashing buckles! Calypsos gorgeous voice! Davey Jones!

It was shit. I wouldn't have minded if it was pure "Arrr, Jim me lad, let's go find some traysure" or if it had been pure plot and schemes and weird pacts with inexpicable supernatural entities. But it tried to be both and failed. It was just three long, boring hours of fail.

And as for Calypso, what was the point in all that? All that big fucking build up and all she ended up doing was make it rain a bit and then fuck off

But there's good crap, like the original star wars films, two of the three indy films (but not temple of doom), the best bond films, etc and then there's bad crap. The first pirates film was good crap. The second was just bad crap. Just cos something's about mindless entertainment, doesn't mean it shouldn't hold together well etc.

very disappointing wasn't she, I expected far more from her like you said.

I took the kids, one fell asleep and the other one just asked me what was happening all the time, I did enjoy it for a but of fun but it was very long and johnny depps nose when he was sniffing out the peanut  he needs to get his pores seen to :D

Did you know there is a post credit sequence on this? I didn't know, hence didn't wait, and am buggered if I'm sitting through it again for that.

i did wonder why so many people where still in there when i ran back in for my jacket, but i thought no film has done this in years, it's so 1990's.... so i left again.

and yes , far to long far to long winded, i didnt know who's side i was on half the time...

Yeah, it ended with a brief 'ten years later' scene... you can imagine the sort of thing.

I remain unashamed of the fact I enjoyed the film.

I'd expect an entertaining film with a good story, engaging characters and action scenes that are exciting instead of just being loud and montonous. The tedious second film in the series delivered nothing of the sort and on account of that I have no interest in seeing the third film.

All three pirates films have an after credits thing...
