Piper was great but they went downhill post syd IMO
Apparantly when they gave syd a preview of Dark side of the moon he commented that it "sounds a bit old", one of the reasons given for ditching syd amongst much seemingly bonkers behaviour was his suggestion that they bring in a girl singer and a saxophonist. (both of which feature on DSOTM made 5 or so years later)
