pictures of vehicles online - should the number plates be blanked out?

The trabant looks remarkably good nick.
Yes it was - but he was a weirdo who only kept cars for about 10 minutes and never drove them - he sold it very quickly and bought some weird Japanese electric car that he couldn't get parts for, next - think it was a first gen Honda Insight.

I think people should make more effort to blank them out, if it's an unusual car or especially a live-in vehicle.

How though. Park your car in the street, a car park or wherever and anyone can take a photo or video on it and post it online.

i find it extremely useful when looking to buy a secondhand car.if the would be vendor has blanked out the number plate or simply doesnt include a pic where the number plate can be read its pretty likely that he or she doesnt want potential purchasers looking up the MOT history of the vehicle. In that case its clearly flagged up as one to avoid.

I took the Alfa out shopping today. In the car park someone snapped a picture or two of her. Those snaps could well be online by now. There is nothing anyone can do about it.

I notice that the majority of photographs on the You Park Like a Cunt website don't have the number plates blanked out :D
