I can't believe Barry Norman does pickles. When I first saw an ad for them, I thought it must be a joke.

I can thank Mr Dodgepot for my first taste of Norman's fine pickles.

I must admit that they sounded like a bit of an urban myth until I saw the jar.

Yeah, they're not bad, although I'm far from a pickled onion connoisseur. An old cockernee bar I used to work in many years ago used to have a big jar of potent onions on the bar that were the best I've had, but also killed off any desire for regular shop purchases.

Should eat more pickles really. There's generally only pickled ginger and jalapenos around in our house, although I've now a sudden longing for a baguette with lots of pate and cornichons

My grandma used to make amazing pickled onions, they would blow your head off. I might try and find a recipe actually.

I love most pickles, but the gherkin reigns supreme imo.

I was at a wedding last november featuring a man dressed as a cornichon. He was DJing and doing shout outs along the lines of "are there any gypsies in the house?!!"
