+1 for Star Guitar - if you've ever done any sequencing then it just seems to talk to you.
Aphex Twin, Come to Daddy. Just keeps going up and up, then the release....
Utah Saints, Something good. It just makes me laugh every time.

  4. Orang Utan

    Orang Utan Sub-Sub-Librarian

isn't it just the Kate Bush vid interspersed with a few shots of them djing in a club?
The Kate Bush vid is ace though:

  5. Dr. Furface

Dr. Furface One small step for man

If you're thinking of this one then it was also filmed at Legends.

  6. killer b

Jonathan Demme's video for Perfect Kiss is magnificent.

trust him to keep it nice and simple and actually show them playing.
The True Faith vid is ace too

Nah, the '08 running man thing.

Cloudbusting would have been my Kate Bush selection too :)

edit: That 'Spinnin records' vid is somewhat chopped about a bit I think
    edit2: I replaced it.

Great mash up of various films that matches the tunes perfectly. Makes me smile every time I watch it.

wiskey has clearly been camped in my brain this week as I was going to post Star Guitar, Gold Dust is one of my new spin tracks that I absolutely battered myself trying to do the other night and I was also doing some 80s spin tracks including that Aha one.

    My other two:
Makes my adrenaline go crazy and I shudder all over.

Was nearly QOTSA for number 3 but I've gone for a classic, my favourite song of all time, and a much favoured video too.

I'm going with the perfect marriage between video and song - too often you get videos which get in the way of the tune - this occurred to me when i was shown some of die antwoord's stuff - it gets overpowered.

Anyhoo - first up, simple, much parodied but brilliantly effective - makes you focus on the song, whilst adding that little bit extra to the lyrics by picking the key words - plus the cards silently winking at the viewer when it goes off beam. You can imagine it delighting 60s youth with its stoner wisdom and counter cultural sardonic stance. And prior to this - had there ever been singer promoting their song - without actually performing it?

one from my youth. Who couldn't captivated by the sheer exuberance and fun of
the nutty boys in their first video outing?

Saw this for the first time the other night. A few years old but well fresh for an old fucker like me. Again - simple, but works perfectly with the tune and - as with the previous two - you really get a sense of the performer's personality.
Despite the extreme rudeness going on, it eschews the same old same old/same old soft porn grind for high res B&W close up of her mouth - making you focus on the song, her sass and the verbal dexterity.

I love that. Director Tim Pope chucked a camera
in a supermarket shopping basket, attached it
to a rope hanging from the ceiling and told the
band to push it around the studio. A really great video and song.

One of the very few songs that would get me
up and dancing as a shy 10 year old. A simple,
fun video of a young band clearly having a good
    time.

Chosen solely for Roland Orzabal's dancing @1:50, which is made
even stranger if you imagine it's Ian MacCulloch through the window!

The first 7 inch I bought with my own money

krtek a houby it can't happen here

This video is awesome (song pretty good too) must have been quite a shoot

Nothing much happens, really simple and evokes a great time to be alive (however fleeting)

Again, this one is pretty simple but beautifully composed (i think. it was either this one or the old skool Clapham cool of The Cookie Crew's Got to Keep On)

Bintus, UK electro thing...I love these kind of effects and the overlay of breakdancing over a field of wheat with some acid visuals sums up the UK to me somehow

Missy Elliot videos are always a fun watch, I think this ones got some particularly original tricks

Classic one - Jackson Can U Feel It - love this era of effects. Havent seen this 9 minute version before! Starts with the regular video and goes on into some cheesy first contact nonsense! Still looks brilliant
