Pianos being put in the street!

If they put them in the underground tube stations then they wouldn't get wrecked from the weather, could be monitored and secure and we might get some buskers who did something a bit more interesting than fucking 'wonderwall' on the guitar.

Just a thought.

Doesn't work. Most buskers play the crap they play because that's what makes money. Back when I used to make my living that way there was a bloke busked down the tube who could do some absolutely fantastic Van Morrison covers, and his own songs were pretty good too. He played Here Comes The Sun over and over again. It made him more than three times as much as playing any other song.

Last I heard he'd been sectioned.

Anyhow. First you have to educate the great Brutish public to prefer interesting music to predictable crap. Best of luck with it.

I'm going to go on an piano odyssey and try to visit all 30 of them in one day. I suppose if I don't make it in one day I can just stay up all night and keep going. I'll have to think of 30 peices to play. One for each piano. Can't wait!

Not a clue yet. The window is the three weeks between 23rd june and 13th july (i.e. whent he pianos are there) but i hear there will be performances on them and stuff so I want to avoid that. Also, I might have to do it on a day when the least people are likly to be out and about playing the pianos (a monday?) which would mean taking a day off work for it. MIght have to start at 4 in the morning and do the most likely to be busy ones first. Also, I can't read music (though I can play the piano reasonably well) so I think perhaps 30 memorised peices worked out by ear is a little ambitious. Perhaps just playing the pianos will do. All of them in one day. It'll be odd to be able to say, as an old man one day, "I once played 30 different pianos in one day, all spread out across london".

Did you do this in the end?

How did you get on?
