As for slagging off Brixton, I think you'll find my main concern was with the epidemic drug dealing & usage, not the place itself.

I think your posts speak for themselves...

It was a lovely law abiding squirrel before it found crack :(

went to church, delivered his spare nuts to hard up squirrels in Peckham, and was doing a course in tree surgery. then he sniffed a stash buried in Bob's garden

I was wondering when you'd show up. FYI I had many good years in Brixton until moving to Saltoun when things took a turn for the worse. Because of the street drugs. End of story.

Got any pics of kids with guns?

Nonsense. I've been a photo editor for 15 years and I'd use pics from most sources. Remember 7/7 bombings - most of the best photojournalism was done by people with mobile phones. That wasn't 'poncing off others hard earned work'. It was using the information available.

As for slagging off Brixton, I think you'll find my main concern was with the epidemic drug dealing & usage, not the place itself.
ok then ... so what you want is exclusicve photos of the shooters in order than your photo archive can then send em off to syndication and cream in the royalties ... not content with your lazy journolism tag you are attempting to add succubus to that title... making money out of tragdy... how vaccuous...

i can make a mint syndicating them leaving the poor sap who took them with just a signing on fee of £50 and they'll only be 'news worthy' for about another day

You are deluded. I'm looking for pics to illustrate a news story. I'm trying to find something that's authentic rather than stunted up.

Squirrel on Squirrel violence is no laughing matter
fuck squirrel on squirrel you should see squirrel on lama violence... has been provoked according to a spokesman from the british nationalist lama party (BNLP) by influxes of grey immigrant squirrels usurping the indigineious population and then attempting to take the jobs and homes of the native lama population...

The BNLP are going nuts about it; saying police are ignawing the problem and can't see the wood for the trees. Police say they dislike the tone and timber of the BNLP statements and will be investigating further. They have their best dectective on the job Sergent Hazel (NUT -national union of Teachers; retired) and beleive the epidemic has come from brazil.

Don't you realise what a stupid request it is...?

http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=154254

If there's ever been a good reason to generally smarten up and dare I say it gentrify certain areas of Brixton....If this is what keeping it real in Brixton is all about, then the sooner some developer that decrepit old shooting gallery by the square into luxury flats the better.

luxury flats, gentrify...:D :D

you're going to get abuse posting that kind of stuff here goldman.

Marks him out as a bit of an insensitive cunt doesn't it?

After all, what everyone really needs is a photograph in the paper glamorising these kids and giving them an outlet to show off their bling and weaponry.

Of course, it's probably about 'keeping it real' for our pal Goldman. Not at all about obtaining a tawdry, alarmist image of kids posing in their favourite gangsta-wannabee best

Does anyone know someone who has taken pictures of kids showing off their guns? I'm looking for reportage-type images that illustrate the current spate of shootings in Brixton, Peckahm and Clapham. I've alrteady spoken to the Photofusion gallery in CHL but they mainly stock stunted-up images posed by models , for obvious reasons. I realise it's a long shot, but are there any hard nosed photographers who may have gained access to any of these kids, or has anyone been able to capture a firearms incident on camera?

Please let me know

you fucking parasite cunt. fuck off

so basically you're a journo who left the place cos you couldn't handle the crime, then slagged it rotten from a safe distance, and now you're sensationalising and/or trivialising a tragic part of that problem AND exploiting a free resource to make dosh, yes?
you're as much pondlife as the robbers, in your way

goldman said:
It's a fairly straightforward request - yes I'm a journalist, using a resource. If you can help I'd appreciate it.

Fuck right off you cynical parastic bastard.

How fucking dare you muscle into a community, online or IRL (this Brixton forum represents a RL community) who are trying to understand a horrible sequence of events, in order to do a "reportage" on something that you can then show off about to all your hack mates and chitter-chattering coke and cocktail binging mates.

Fuck off.

goldman said:
Yeah I moved somewhere quiet and boring, after living in the area for quite some time. I needed to get away from the increasingly heavy atmosphere. Which seems to have deteriorated further in the last week or so.

But you thought you'd just pop back while things were "interesting"?

Parasite. Fucking bottom feeding shit stirrer.

If you want to get hold of photographs like this to earn yourself filthy dollar then you should arm yourself with a camera and get out there and shoot them yourself.

Alternatively you could look at yourself in depth and ask yourself what your existence on this planet is all about, change your life for the better and make some practical moves towards changing this terrible trend and keeping our kids alive.

Right now you make my stomach turn :(

What's the big fucking deal about the original request?

Is everyone particularly upset because this is a journalist?

Would everyone had had the same reaction if someone has sim-ly asked if there are any photographers out there who had taken photographs in south london around the theme of guns, gangs and violence?

Is anyone screaming at Garf because he took some photos of kids in Palestine holding guns? Is he 'disgusting' and 'parasitic' for taking these photos - or is the offence the use of them in a newspaper?

And does this make the people who buy and read the newspaper an accesory to this exploitation?

I now that ceratin posters here have a bit of "history" re. Brixton and I know the u75 FAQs do specifically mention the use of the site by researchers, but IMO a lot of the posts on this thread are over-the-top, hysterical, self-righteous shite.
