what the fuck do you know, you only like Crouch because your overrated manager spunked £6m on him. You'd be groaning/laughing like the rest of us if he were still at So'ton

Crouch, as people have said isn't woeful, but he is not international class. If you want a guy to hoof the ball to then Heskey is your option. Why anyone is thinking of hoofing the ball with the squad of palyers we have got is beyond me. Actually I think with Beckham hoofing upfront all game I can see why.
hear hear; added to which, football's moved on from the days of the big, tough, unsubtle target-man. Bob latchford would get nowhere in this era, either.

Good control good passing great hold up play unfortunatly his shooting really lets him down.

probbaley in the england sqaud but really shouldn't start many games. rooney , owen, defoe, bent are all people who should start ahead of him.

You were that bloke in the pub that said to me - Liverpool won't win anything of importance again ever.......

That was around 12 months before we became Champions of Europe.

How many times have your second rate outfit won that cup eh!?

The one that is at Anfield permanently eh eh!?

Answer me that one sonny jim!

sorry, when did you last win a premiership/championship?
or finish above arsenal in it? :p
and how does a drunkenly wrong prediction prove that crouch is an international-class player?

That competition is as dead as a dodo.

The Champions League is always the one to win........ :o ;)

does anyone else reckon he looks like munch from 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps???

Considering any game of real consequence in a major competition (i.e Brazil, France, Portugal) England have played the last 60 minutes firing long balls to the 5'6" Michael Owen (or the equally towering Jermaine Defoe), the value of a big lump in the box shouldn't be underestimated. As other have said, it beats bringing on Owen Hargreaves as your one tactical masterstroke.

And Heskey, while better than he was, rightly played himself out of the England team with that clumsy foul in the France game.

Poll and comments re-opened for review. FA Cup winner, Community Shield match winner. 8 goals in 8 starts for Engerlund.

Admit it ...... you fuckin' love 'im!!!

People are blinkered, crouch is international class. He has scored at international level, we just beat chelsea by his goal in the CS. He has great footwork and if you have a team that doesn't like intricate passing and is only willing to play the long ball (ala england) then crouch is your man.

peter crouch lol -- i think he's a complete joke. but bringing humour to a game of football ain't a bad thing :D

he does, to his credit, seem to be improving each match.

but he'll always be a lanky muppet to me :)

Very great man. Frickin' huge in fact and I'm sure that, had he been given the chance, he would have scored 8 goals in 8 starts for England.

crouch is a bit of a good omen for england though isnt he? i think we won quite alot of games when he played. cant remember the statistic.
i like him

Haha fucking Kevin Francis! I forgot all about this guy. I believe he was 6ft 7ins - fairly good in the air, poor with his feet.

While I was a student in Manchester in the mid-90s, I was good mates with a mad Stockport fan.

I ended up going to about 30 games with him, watching the likes of Francis, Jim Gannon, Mike Flynn, a young Alun Armstrong lose at home to sides like Plymouth.
