What I can't understand with Winehouse is the fact that instead of apparently applauding her for sounding *black* why don't the same people get off their arses and actually buy an an album recorded by a black female artist which probably doesn't get the *gushing reviews* from the predominantly *white musical press*????

All other criticisms aside...IMO Amy is/was not an ordinary singer, she has/had shed loads of that special something. I'm not sure how much has been nature or nuture but it's/it was visible all the same.

i urge folks to try to just ignore the media circus surrounding people like Amy Winehouse and Pete. It depends on you, and whether you can separate the two, and not allow your judgement to be clouded. Why do people find this so hard? I find it easy. They are just druggies, they aint bad people.

I appreciate what your saying CP but you can't expect people not to have an impression of her. That video was not filmed by a spying journo, so it's not the average media circus thing is it? You can't just look at the things you like and hope the other stuff goes away.
